No wonder the turks wont hand back even a field to the greeks.
lysi,
Real estate agents are doing what they do best, selling real estate.
And the developers are doing what they do best, built houses, units, villas whatever. What needs to change is the whole situation, and that will only happen with a permanent solution. The people of Cyprus should be pushing their leaders and, in the case of TCs, the Turkish government to find a solution without delay. But the whole situation is far too complicated, and a lot of foreign interests are involved. You have the EU interests,Turkish interests,UK interests,USA interests,Russian interests, you name it...I personally believe that the spirit of the Cypriot people has been crushed by the events of the last 41 years.I don't think many people really believe there will ever be a solution, for most people the present state of affairs are all they know. They are very comfortable in their entrenched positions and, as cypezokyli mentioned in another thread just a few days ago, most people would not know what to do with themselves if there was no Cyprus problem to whinge about.
The whole situation can really get you down if you let it.
I used to think that with time it will be easier for the younger generations to put their prejudices aside and forge one nation out of this mess.
But I can see now that the majority of the young people (those under 30)
in Cyprus and elsewhere have no emotional investment in the whole problem, and most are too lazy to even debate the issues without falling back on their entrenched opinions.Let alone take direct action to change the situation.
