It's a smart move to revive a stagnant property market. It's also being done in Ireland, Portugal and Spain. In Cyprus it's mainly aimed at attracting Russians and Chinese. They must also deposit €30000 in a Cyprus bank for a minimum of three years. In the case of Cyprus, members of the buyer's immediate family can also get residency as long as they deposit €30000 for each one.

Rich people buying homes in the sun, sheesh whatever next :lol:

There's loads of rich Chinese buying everywhere, many in Canada UK and Oz so why not Cyprus? Of course they will want their Title Deeds

and a few have already been warned about that little problem.

Dont the Chinese now own Pireaus Port in Greece? they buy up everything they think is worth investing in, maybe they have designs on Paphos itself
