Turkey Boycotts the Pirate State

Postby Demonax » Sun Jun 16, 2013 4:00 pm

The Republic of Cyprus is to participate in the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey starting 19th June. But it looks like the pirate ‘state’ in the occupied areas has been excluded - presumably because it doesn’t officially exist.

Cyprus to participate in Mediterranean Games in Turkey

Cyprus will participate in the Mediterranean Games that will take place in Turkey

The Cyprus team comprises of 54 athletes.

Cyprus, which ranked 12th at the Games in 2009, aims to maintain its position.

The Mediteranean Games will begin next week, on the 19th of June.

Twenty – four countries participate in the Games.

The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event, with participation exclusively from countries around the Mediterranean Sea, where Europe, Africa and Asia meet.

Once again, Turkey proves that it does not recognise the illegal "trnc".

Where is VP and Vordo? :)

i hope the terkish hotels have the sense to ask for the money from the greeks up , otherwise who is going to pay their bill.

Oh don't be so sensitive buddy!

The RoC athletes are looking forward to some nice Turkish hospitality and I can wait for the roar of the crowd when the RoC Flag enters the arena and is raised along with all the other Med countries!

The RoC should win some Gold Medals too! I hope the Turks know our National Anthem!

The RoC are sick bastards and we deserve all we get from the Turks. Why do we even give them this recognition? It would serve us right if the Turks had 'trnc' flags and I'm with freddie on this one.
We just never learn.

The Cyprus athlete delegation should boycott this event and not disgrace the RoC by attending. They can also draw attention to not feeling safe in Turkey especially under the recent Police-brutality shows and achieve something worthwhile by highlighting the disgraceful fascist administration running Turkey.

Big woopidy doo!

The RoC should attend just like when RoC Football teams go to Turkey to play Football in the Champions League. Apoel and Anorthosis played in Turkey.

Don't give the Turks what they want. Let them fly the RoC Flag in their stadiums and may our athletes win lots of gold! :)

RoC attendance will devestate them. If we boycott,we would look silly to the international games authority responsible for the event!
