I can't say much about Nicosia, but I use the local buses here in Limassol on average probably three times a week, and I would give them very high marks for running punctually, actually. Since the new bus system came into operation 3-4 years ago, there are far more buses on more routes now, as well, so it is much more easier to get about by bus than it used to be.
