Our daughter goes to ISOP and is presently doing her A levels; a good school with good teachers. I have read there are problems with Goverment Licenses for Private Schools and ISOP is one of only a couple of Private Schools in Paphos with a license and the Government is clamping down on schools without one; the AA is said not to have a license. We also pay for afternoon lessons in Chemistry as and when she feels she needs additional tuition; she goes to a fantastic local ex-teacher who is excellent in her field.

No ! I insult those incompetent and corrupt to the bone administrators of the RoC.
By the way, the few years in the UK that you mentioned are 52 .
The RoC has stooped down to the levels of a banana republic, lawlessness, greed to the highest levels and total incompetence. Look at the recent catastrophe, a self inflicted tragedy with us as the victims.
Corruption, nepotism, and more corruption.Total disrespect of law and order, its who you know that carries the day.

He is not. You are deluding yourself. People should be facing reality for once and start getting angry. Instead we have everyone thinking that everything is like it was before or passively accepting their sordid fates.

As for afternoon education, some pupils at private schools get it too, and it s not always happening because the teaching is weak in the normal class room time,

There are some children who need it for the reason that they are new to Cyprus , possibly with poor language skills in the language of the school, and there differences in the Syllabus between what they learnt in EG Russia and what thy are now learning in Cyprus with gaps in knowledge that need to be filled. in the public sector some pupils study GCSE and A levels to improve their chances of going to eg UK universities.

However it affects not just pupils in last year of school and I suspect in many cases afternoon teaching has become a nice little earner, tax free of course, so the teachers arrange matters to make it necessary.

Both so called American Academies are a bloody disgrace.
My brother recently retired from one such educational establishment.
I do not have his permission to relate his experiences after serving for more than 20 years.
I know a great deal about this "organization" that runs the Academies, I'm rather outspoken but I think if I know whats good for me I should remain silent.

which of the American Academies was it? Larnaca, Limassol or Paphos?

Limassol.

same firm who run Paphos but NOT Larnaca.

Oracle, Miltiadis is not over reacting.

If you knew what he alleges, then you would or should be very concerned because I can tell you it is big and disgusting.

I don't believe you would just accept such a thing if true.

I don't want to say anything more, but we can never accept such things in Cyprus, UK, Australia, Greece or anywhere else!

It's a bit like GD. Every self respecting Greek can never accept GD as the true nature of Greeks or Hellenism.

Fight injustice and depravity wherever it is found! Even in Cyprus and Greece.

Just don't get defensive about it. No country is immune, and for me, Greece and Cyprus even less so for obvious reasons. :)
