Turkey's dirty business in the occupied areas:
Hasan Hastürer from the Havadis newspaper wrote this in February: “Without discriminating against anyone, I want to write this very openly. The competition to see who would become the new UBP leader was a period when every imaginable sort of embarrassing offer was being thrown about. It was a race to find people's Achilles' heels. ... Those with weak spots were approached and what was strange was that people openly agreed to offers.”

The newspaper Volkan published a letter criticizing MİT's dirty under the table games: “From the moment Önkol, sent to the KKTC by MİT, set foot in our country, he began to talking using foul swear words and making belittling remarks. In fact, he began tossing about threatening rhetoric in every direction, saying: ‘they will all be eliminated, they will be sent to Silivri; government ministers and bureaucrats will be removed from their posts, newspapers will be shut down, this is all my duty to take care of these things.'

“At the same time, open pressure began being placed on ministers, MPs, mayors, civil society leaders and journalists while allegations were being made against the KKTC president, the UBP general leader candidate and anyone who supported them. … Atalay and Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yıldırım also met up with UBP delegates to spread propaganda in favor of Küçük.

Corruption, lies, looting and plundering in the occupied areas exposed:

Ozersay calls on Turkish Cypriots not to vote in the "elections"; Other reactions to the developments

Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (25.06.13) reports that Kudret Ozersay, leader of the "Toparlaniyoruz" ["We are getting together"] Movement has pointed out to the dirtiness in the politics in the occupied area of Cyprus and noted that the incidents in the "assembly" of the regime shows this. In a statement issued through the social media, Ozersay called on the people not to vote in the forthcoming "elections" and noted that voting would be tantamount to the continuation of the same status quo.

Ozersay referred to examples of bribery happened during the past ten years in the occupied area of Cyprus and called on the people to "react against this worthlessness", which is "common for all political parties for a long period of time". Ozersay said that he remembers that when he was a child, people were visiting his village with cars on Saturday nights before the "elections" and distributed money. "Did you forget those who distributed money to your area", he asked the people.

Furthermore, Kibris (25.06.13) reports that Mehmet Ozkardas, chairman of the Turkish Cypriot "civil servants'" trade union (KAMU-SEN) has commented also on the allegations of bribery and said that "change is absolutely necessary". Arguing that the allegations of Ejder Aslanbaba showed that the political structure in the occupied area of Cyprus was corrupted, Ozkardas called on the "voters" to prefer "young candidates".

Moreover, Tahir Gokcebel, chairman of the of the Turkish Cypriot secondary school teachers' trade union (KTOEOS), has said that the dirtiness in politics should end, adding that "a democracy for the show" has been established in the occupied area of Cyprus by exploiting the flag, the nation and the religion, and by looting and plundering.

Bribery allegations expose the rotten system in the occupied areas, say Turkish Cypriots:

Turkish Cypriot economic organizations assess Aslanbaba's bribery allegations

Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (26.06.13) reports that representatives of Turkish Cypriot economic organizations have assessed the allegations for bribery made by independent "MP", Ejder Aslanbaba and noted that these allegations deal a great blow to economy and that politics have lost their esteem.

Under the title "No trust remained", the paper publishes statements by Gunay Cerkez, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, who said that the allegations for bribery have seriously damaged the trust "to the economy, the country and the politicians".

Ali Cirali, chairman of the Chamber of Industry, noted that the incidents showed how ugly politics are, and asked from the community not to give way to such persons.

Tamer Mufuzade, member of businessmen association (ISAD), argued that the trust of the "citizens" to politics vanished.

Arsen Angi, chairman of young businessmen association (GIAD) described the allegations for bribery as "scandalous" and noted that such incidents caused instability.

Hurrem Tulga, chairman of the Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen (KTEZO), argued that the incidents are a result of the corruption that exists in the occupied area of Cyprus and asked for the amendment of the "law" that concerns the political parties.

Apparently there's an 'election' in the occupied areas.

Somebody no-one's ever heard of is standing.

Some 'voters' are boycotting.

Someone called Denktash is involved.

Any more news, I'll let you know.

So what’s happening? Who is going to win? Who is Turkey backing? Will anyone bother to vote? Does anyone care?
