it seems to me some educated and cultured people are incredibly ignorant of some very simple facts. i wonder who will oblige to explain to these two ignorant cypriots about the rules of who can vote in the roc as it stands today.

can a tc vote for a president or an mp especially as they pay their taxes to the roc.

Not only can they vote but in the last parliamentary elections 2 tcs were running for MP with AKEL and withdrew last minute due to threats from the occupied territories. Same thing happened with tc footballers wanting to play for AEL and Salamina a while back, denktash had threatened their families and they turned down the offers.

Registering for the first time to get a “voting booklet” is the same for everybody.

Because the constitution of the Republic stipulates that TC's could only vote for a Vice President of Cyprus. A position that has not been filled since the Turkish Cypriots resigned from their government posts in 63 and then made it worse when the Turkish occupation army invaded and occupied 37% of the island and proclaimed a separate state.

that was 39 years ago. does it take 39 years to allow people who pay their taxes to be able to vote.

would they have changed it if they were not take to eu court.
