First year university student, Ali İsmail Korkmaz (below), participated in a demonstration in support of the Gezi Park protests in the city of Eskişehir on 2 June. In the face of a chemical attack using Nonlethal Technologies' lethal weapons, he took refuge in a side street where he was set upon and beaten unconscious by a group of 5-6 people dressed in civilian clothing. He was later found to be suffering from cerebral hemorrhage and is now fighting for his life.

A group of people combine to form the words reading "Hang on in there, Ali" in a park in Eskişehir.

Sadly to say, Ali did not make it and has become the fifth person to lose their life in these protests. I hope it will not have been in vain.

Ali's family after they received news of his death.

Well, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, five people in civilian attire beat an innocent, unarmed protester so badly that he dies a few weeks later. Is this not cold blooded murder? Is murder not a sin in Islam? You, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who think that you are entitled to wage chemical war against your own people to impose your own idea of Islamic values on the whole population, let us see your reaction to this. Will we hear one word of condemnation? You have to be an exemplary Muslim, surely, to force your notion of Islam on everybody. An exemplary Muslim must surely condemn murder. Well, let us hear you condemn this cowardly murder.

I hope everyone is aware that the occupation regime is buying itself a TOMA, ostensibly for firefighting......

But Tim, haven't you heard that these protesters were terrorist, looters and foreign agents. As far as Erdogan is concerned, dying is too good for them and that he ONLY represents mainly the poor, the uneducated and the religious segments of the Turkish society, you know, the "Good Turks" who listen to his every word.

I want to know when anyone is going to sue Erdogan for murder. After all, it was his police that did these killings. When Erdogan declared the police as "My Police", surely all responsibilities should end with him, as well as punishment. If I let my attack dogs loose to kill someone, surely as these are my dogs, I would be held responsible for their actions. Erdogan too let loose "His attack Dogs" on the people and many got injured as well as some got killed. So why isn't the "Dog Master" being held responsible for the action of his "Attack Dogs". Oh, I forgot, he has diplomatic immunity, therefore he can injure and kill as many as these "terrorist, looters and foreign agents" as he wants.

Perhaps Turkey is ripe for another coup soon, to get rid of this Islamofascist, thanks to his foreign “friends”. No guarantee however, that his replacement will be any better, not unless his replacement wants Turkey to become a European country.

These are interesting times, and anything could happen.

Following Erdoğan's carefully staged rallies in response to the Gezi protests, and the way that the assembled crowds appeared to be in an almost trance like state apparently ready to applaud anything that comes out of his mouth, I was somehow reminded of the huge rallies in Nazi Germany. That man has almost cast a spell over a section of the Turkish population, just as Hitler once did in Germany, but something could happen to suddenly break that spell. It just calls for one little boy to call out that the emperor is naked. Erdoğan has been a very astute politician up to now, but he is failing to read the shifting tides at home and abroad, and is adopting an ever harder line when he really should be making compromises. One day soon he may do or say something that goes too far for all but his real hard core of support. It is funny how in post-war Germany, suddenly nobody would admit to having been a Hitler supporter (although there were plenty of them while he was riding on a crest - although I also know that many Germany detested him while he was in power). I can picture the day when Erdoğan falls from grace and suddenly nobody will admit to ever having supported him.

By the way, I have absolutely no doubt whatsover that it is in Erdoğan's power to see to it that the murderers of that 19year old boy are detected. Of course, he won't.

One ray of hope is that apparently an eye witness to the beating that led to this boy's death has been identified.

What utter rubbish. You support a non democratic apartheid system in Cyprus to subjugate the Greek Cypriots. You fool no one with your lies.

May all people who think like you rot in hell for what you are doing in Cyprus too.
