There is an outspoken opposition member of parliament named Kamer Genç who is always stirring up hornets' nests, and he has done it again this morning in parliament, causing uproar among the ruling party members when accusing the AKP government of staging a counter revolution and then adding, "You have seen what happened to Morsi."

This begs the question, how was it possible to keep the decision quiet? No protesters about, no one heard of it? Strange, very strange as you would think it would have been ammo for the protesters, no??

But the mass protesters was not/ is not about the Gezi park development. It's all about Erdogan and his Islamist views in how he wants to turn Turkey into. Gezi park was the "trigger", but the rest all has to do with Erdogan and after what happened to Erdogan's Islamist brother Morsi, from here on, the "trigger" will be Erdogan.

I have just listened to the news on the BBC world service and they mentioned that Turkey's Islamist government has expressed its opposition to the toppling of Morsi. Interesting. I don't think I have heard the BBC refer to the AKP as being 'Islamist' before - I though the line was that they were a nice, cuddly bunch. Are perceptions changing (towards seeing the wolf beneath the sheep's clothing)?

No official statement has been released by Erdogan, but my sources gave me this peace of information in a encrypted form. Just managed to untangle this so far. There's much more, but that's for later.

Apparently Erdogan opened the meeting with a statement which read, "Boys, after what happened to our beloved Islamist brother Morsi yesterday in Egypt, our asses are next. Any ideas...........anyone?"

Turkish PM holds 3-hour Egypt meeting attended by FM, intelligence chief
ISTANBUL - Doğan News Agency

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held an extraordinary meeting at his Istanbul office to assess the latest developments in the Egyptian crisis at 4 p.m. today. No official statement was delivered after the meeting, which lasted about three hours.

Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç; Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu; Culture and Tourism Minister Ömer Çelik; the deputy chairman and spokesperson of the ruling Justice and Ruling Party (AKP), Huseyin Çelik; and AKP lawmaker Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu participated in the meeting. The head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Hakan Fidan and Erdoğan's chief adviser, Yalçın Akdoğan, also attended the meeting.

Erdoğan called the meeting, cutting short his holiday in the Aegean town of Urla.

[quote="bill cobbett"]This Court ruling is all a bit curious, according to this BBC report, apparently it was made on the 8th June but has only been made public today... :?

Court decisions must bear the date of the last public hearing of the case (last date when the court was in public cession on the case). But in most cases the rulings of administrative courts are actually reached after elaborations which might take several days after the last public session.

Interesting precedent

Postby Tim Drayton » Wed Jul 10, 2013 10:52 am

Two claimants against Turkey at the European Court of Human Rights have been awarded compensation of 15,000 euro each for being kicked and tear-gassed by the police during the 1 May rally held in Izmir in 2006.

Based on this precedent, Turkey is going to face some hefty penalties for the disproportionate police force used against the mainly peaceful, unarmed protestors in the ongoing Gezi Park resistance.

A classic!

Erdoğan seen shaking the hands of Egypt's Chief of the General Staff, Abdulfettah Halil el Sisi, at the International Defence Industry Fair in Istanbul in May (when he apparently was able to tell Sisi the good news that Turkey was giving the Egyptian army a loan).
