I wonder how much he has offered the groups to pull their supporters out. Money talks.

Yes, confirmed by indy media who write...

[Istanbul] Forums have been set up at 7 different parts of Gezi Park. The protesters will discuss the meeting held with the Prime Minister and his suggestions relating to the resistance. The protesters claim for their right of selfexpression and the participation in decision-making and aim to take the decisions together. The forums will commence at 16.00.
15.30:
[Istanbul] Taksim solidarity is giving details about the meeting with Prime Minister yesterday. Process will be argued with protestors.

Yes, confirmed by a friend, with figures for Istanbul alone, who writes for turkish-speakers...

...Sadece Taksim'de 17 günde kullanılan biber gazından dolayı 8 köpek, 63 kedi, 1028 tane çeşitli cinslere ait kuş ölümleri tespit edilmiştir, diğer illerde tespit çalışmaları devam etmektedir...

I have been watching a bit of Çapul TV - they have been showing snippets of the continuing discussions in the seven forums, and the announcer has just said that the consensus that is emerging is that Erdoğan's reply is NOT satisfactory. Time will tell. They have said that the results of the discussions will be announced at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning.

From what I am hearing on Çapul TV, the two members of Taksim Solidarity who were on last night's delegation came to the people in the park and said that, "We attended the meeting with the prime minister as your representative and have brought back the proposals for you to decide on." As far as I can discern, the sole proposal is to await the conclusion of the judicial process (there is currently a stay of execution in place while the courts hear an objection) and then, if the decision comes out in favour of the development plan, to hold a referendum.

Taksim Solidarity, in their announcement to the people at the park, said that they put forward four demands to the prime minister. The first demand was about the planned developments for the park, and the reply that they obtained was as I described above. The second demand was that action should be taken against those responsible for lost lives and injuries; they said that action had been started against those responsible and three officials had already been removed from their positions in Izmir and similar action would be taken against those responsible.

The third and fourth demands were for those arrested to be released and for all of Turkey’s squares to be opened up for the citizens of the country to freely express themselves; there was no reply to the last two demands.
The forums at the park are debating these replies, what one of the speakers on Çapul TV described as a “half step backwards”.

Whilst we're waiting to hear of reaction by the demonstrators to the meeting with Chemical Erdy.

Here's a point of view from one group of people we haven't covered, the 'police" ...!!!, who are reporting, amongst other things, of poor conditions and poor leadership

First few paras of a must read from the GB Graudian...

"...Tired after spending the second night in a row sleeping on his shield on a city centre pavement, deprived of washing and toilet facilities, hungry and thirsty, the Turkish police officer sounded rather fed up.

"We have now been working for 56 hours straight," he said.

The 30 exhausted riot police officers sitting on a pavement in a side street by Istanbul's Taksim Square had had one hour of rest the night before. Some of them dozed, their heads against a wall..."

Thanks for raising this point again that I made a few days ago. If the police crack, what else does the regime have up its sleeve? In fact, this may be why they are starting to take a 'half step backwards.'
