Going back to the Gezi Park Protests...

Hurriyet reporting that 35 members of the Carsi football fans of Besikstas FC are up in court on way over the top charges of ATTEMPTING TO OVERTHROW THE TURKISH GOVERNMENT.

Here's a couple of snippets from the report...

"... “We would make Beşiktaş the champions if we had the power,” said Cem Yakışkan, one of the prominent members of the group, when asked by the judge if the group had ever attempted a coup. ..."

... and Human Rights Watch has this to say...

"... Human Rights Watch said in a written statement that the allegations were absurd.

“Charging these Beşiktaş football club fans as enemies of the state for joining a public protest is a ludicrous travesty,” said Emma Sinclair-Webb, the senior Turkey researcher at Human Rights Watch. ..."

Enjoy reading the news from Hürriyet for as long as you can. It is rumoured to be one of two remaining independent newspapers that will soon be brought under the regime's control.

The opposition CHP party in Turkey has started a new poster campaign in opposition to the gang of kleptocrats that have usurped the Turkish state. The following example is shown displayed on the party’s building in Aydın. This was the second one to be put there after the police took down the first one.

The above placard reads “GET YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF THIS PEOPLE”.

I don't see Erdo's picture up there. The biggest Kleptocrat period.

He was recently rumoured to have bought a building in Singapore for one and a half billion - not million - US dollars. Just a rumour, mind you.

The billboard companies are refusing to carry these new posters, so CHP members are resorting to turning themselves into walking billboards:

“The account in question has just been opened. It’s his excellency’s own account. Tweets from him are signed ‘RTE’,” Mucahit Kucukyilmaz, the head of public communications at the presidential office, told the Anatolia news agency.

...for the record i'll include this tidbit here (because there is no, Erdogan the clown, thread), because in my mind, it started here in Gezi Park, penguins and all, Erdogan's Turkey, the (other) face of it.

Turkey vows to hunt down ‘dark forces’ behind Istanbul hostage-taking (Updated)

Two members of the extreme leftist Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C) took prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz, 46, hostage in his office in Istanbul on Tuesday.

Kiraz had been leading an investigation into the death last March of 15-year-old Berkin Elvan, who died nine months after falling into a coma from a head wound sustained from a police tear gas canister during anti-government protests in 2013.

The hostage-taking was an act of revenge for Elvan’s death, the DHKP-C said on its website.

...can someone explain this to me.

a 15 year old boy was killed by the police. the prosecutor is not exactly trying hard to get to the bottom of it and was probably blaming the boy for standing in the direction of the object. you can deduce that as no policeman has been held responsible for this killing or any other killing. dhkp-c is a left wing organisation that has been fighting the terggish state for decades.
