Airsoft in Cyprus?

Postby potassium » Thu May 23, 2013 2:59 pm

Does anyone know what the legal age is for airsoft guns (AEG) and where can I get supplies from and play airsoft?

Not in Cyprus and technically, the guns are illegal.

Airsoft guns are different than real guns.

I know, I did some research a while ago as I was/am interested to import a gun and get involved too.

I doubt that you will find a shop that sells AEG's in Cyprus. Others have commented on other forums that their air shipped AEG's have been confiscated by customs. others have said that they have managed to get them through shipped by sea from Greece.

These guns technically fall under semi-automatic's (which are prohibited), even though they only fire BB's.

You can legally obtain, through license, a double barreled shotgun or an air rifle with caliber .177.

This is to the best of my knowledge but I hope someone can tell us otherwise.

Well, I once had this booklet with a bunch rights for teenagers and if I am correct somewhere it said that you can own one when you are 16 but with parent's permission.
Now, I do not know if they meant AEG's or just BB spring guns that fire only 1 bullet at a time and if that means if you are 16 it's legal to play airsoft matches.
I am not sure if this is true because I cannot remember well and I cannot find the booklet.

I think they are talking about those spring loaded type guns that you can win at the banayirka or buy from the periptero!

You get a sealed metal canister that contains 500 rounds. To open it it’s like opening a Spam (luncheon meat) with a huge key thingie.
