Death came to the island when Turkey invaded and they still threaten us, so we arm ourselves against them otherwise we would be defenceless!

RW, do you disagree?

not at all. and i hope you will agree that the threat is Erdogan (and this ilk), not Turkey, which is lining us up for a World War, so that out of all of it maybe she'll get a little bit instead. indeed, Cyprus needs to defend itself, and as i was saying, once all the kaboom settles down, it will be the warfare of the worst kind, on this island. my point is there is no point in glorifying the possibility, i really don't care who will flatten who, better. as you say a defensive force, this is the NG, capable, well trained, and disciplined; silent. and to be a good ally, equipped as well.

...it is entirely possible that Russia will ally with America, (because Erdogan is that kind of a madman with too much money to spend) to stand together should other Middle countries stand with Turkey in her plaints. China comes to mind as a competitor up in coming in the art of war, (who could benefit from a demonstration of her skills; computers, aircrafts, and codes), Pakistan will likely stand against the USA, (Westward she claims a part of Afghanistan as her reward, Eastward she can finally settle the score), and Brazil even as a "neutral" party stands to gain (needing Industrial and Manufacturing progress), in this context i can see the EU on the opposite side, at war against Britain.

...we can hope that a solution can be found which is natural, or that an epiphany is had by the small group of men and women who are those who can decide.

Get real! You are fluggin dreamer!
You are lucky there are more GCs with sense than those like you - because if there were not, you would have been blown to smitherines hundred times by now!
You are idiot of a man to thing that few dozen sams and couple of corvettes would win you a war agains Turkey. YOU ARE aither SICK or mentally RETARDED!
Irak had thousands of SAM missiles and AA guns, so what happened?

You think the war is one sided and is on the sea or in the air - you fool - wars are finally won by men on the ground! You seem to live in a coockoo land to think that your miserable NG can stand up against the biggest army in Europe (one of the best equipped and trained). Not even your motherland dared to face them at times when they were half as strong as they are now! You are on a suicide mission and very bad news for your community!

Do you possibly think the NG will even get a chance to fire a single SAM if Turkey decided to invade the rest of the island? High altitude Turkish drones and surway aircraft (known to your air controllers) have been flying over Cyprus for more than a decade now! They have the location of every SAM missile or AA gun you have in a very small area covered by South Cyprus. Believe when I say that the first targets before any such action would be the low flying F16 manouvering around Trodos and destroying most of sam sites - exact location of which can also be confirmed by the electronic radars on F16s. They will probably do the same to any gunboats thay may carry any surface to air or anti-ship missiles...

Finally here is something for you to enjoy - and by the way, it gives me great pleasure to see you slagging your old heroes the Kurds, who ended up leaving Turkey with their tails between their legs - never to return again. Turkish army / government must be the only nation on earth who have won a war against the terrorısts! :D So what happened to all the blabbering that went on in this forum many moons ago?

With the Kurds gone, imagine how much more powerful Turkey will become by diverting the billions spent annually on combatting terrorism to more economic investment and development!

It is fools like you who think winning wars is so easy who have cost very dearly to their nations - DADA Amin, Saddam, Gaddafi, are just some of the examples with Asad soon to be added to the list. On the other hand - I wish some fool like yourself ends up as a leader so that we may even end up ruling the whole of the island. With the latest banking fiasco - even your Russian friends cannot be bothered with you anymore
NOW SIT DOWN AND BEHAVE!

BigOz,I hope you don't think that the PKK decided to end their warfare with Turkey after 30 years just because Erdogan told them to do so or that the Turkish military beat them. The shoe is yet to fall on what Erdogan gave to the PKK/Kurds for them to end their military struggle. Lets wait and see what the cost will be Turkey. It will not be cheap to say the least, but perhaps well worth the cost in the long term for Turkey.

Let's look at Artillery and related hardware now...

Guided Missile Carriers

With MILAN Missile EE-3 15
With HOT Missile VAB-VCAC 18

Self Propelled Artillery

155mm Howitzer ZUZANA 12
155mm Howitzer MK F3 12
122mm multiple rocket launcher BM-21 4

Towed Artillery

155mm Howitzer TRF-1 12
105mm Howitzer Mod 56 Howitzer 54
100mm Howitzer M1944 20
128mm multiple rocket launcher M-63 Plamen 18

That's 165 units pounding away at the enemy (many concealed up in the Troodos mountains)

Some photos of these to encourage your appetite…

It makes sense.
The CNG is very well aware of turkey's air superiority.
in order to counter it, we'd need to really beef up the air defense system. An 'iron dome' style coordination of various AAA and SAM if you will.

The fool actually thinks there'll be an airport left standing!

A single hit on that heap of crap you’ve built will knock that out from the first hour.

Nothing comes in and nothing gets out.

..and we can always use our spare runway at Kornos!

Turkey was pi$$ing herself because one s-300 was going to be stationed on the island.

That can easily come back.

No, we will order S-400. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-400_(SAM)

5 more of those as well please.

It’s a big jump for your Turkish pilots to go from zero air resistance and doing whatever they like to the useless PKK, to confronting over 300 modern S2A units jam-packed in just 5,830 Km2!

It’s like a rider upgrading from a bicycle to a Lamborghini at once!

So let’s recap for you now BigOz…

Over 700 fighting vehicles

Over 300 air defense units

Some 165 artillery units

About 100,000 men (soldiers & reservists).

A squadron of attack helicopters.

About 20 patrol boats/corvettes

And scores of other things I missed so far… in Cyprus right now… not somewhere stored away in Turkey!

So, what are the chances that your “TC community” will continue to exist and have any claim on Cyprus after such a confrontation?

Now do you now realize who needs to shut the fuck up and start behaving? It’s YOUR people who don’t have a pair of knickers to wear!
