The Regime's Bayrak propaganda broadcaster is still having problems paying an outstanding 18 million TL electricity bill. There had been an arrangement in place to pay off the outstanding sum by instalments but Bayrak has gone back on the deal... so as before, the CY electrical workers union EL-SEN has cut off the supply.

The office/studio of Bayrak in Occupied Morphou has had to resort to stealing electricity from neighbours by rigging an impromptu supply from a neighbour's electricity meter, from the supply to the Dept of Religious Affairs.

Baycrap resorting to the Theft of Electricity...!!!

Reporters there are also unable to file their reports directly from the office and have to walk down the road to internet cafes.

Will the last TC left please turn off the lights...

Yet another electricity bill left unpaid by "trnc"...

News that a public swimming pool in the Occupied Part of Nicosia has been closed for the past three weeks due to the usual incompetent failure of what passes as "authority" in the Occupied Areas, the Corrupt and Powerless Regime of "trnc", to pay the electricity bill...!!!

Local swimmers are not a happy bunch and some 100 of them protested outside the baths.

One irate chap said that the pool's closure was the result of "poor governance" and that people up there should take more action against the system. Another protester said the system is destroying local sports.

News from haberkibris today that the debts of the electricity generator in "trnc" , a body that goes by the name of Kib-Tek, has run up debts of some 400 Million TL.

The blame today is being put on the collapse in the value of the TL this year leading to higher fuel prices.

The real reasons for the poor finances remain the unwillingness of "trnc" to pay for the lecky that powers its offices and we hear today that the TA also doesn't pay its bills.

Also news today that 30 mosques have had their supply cut off for non-payment of electricity bills.

Just goes to show that if you don't want to pay your bills in "trnc" just fly the flag of the Republic of Turkey somewhere on your premises.

Here's a little for our turkish-speakers on this...

Following on....

Alarm bells at 'Kıb-Tek'

NICOSIA – Alarm bells are ringing at the Turkish Cypriot Electricity Authority (Kıb-Tek) as the institution’s receivables are growing like a snowball. The “security forces commandership,” the “peace forces commandership,” the Turkish “embassy,” “government offices,” the “state”-owned BRT channel, “municipalities,” the religious affairs directorate and mosques are among the major debtors of Kıb-Tek.

According to the news report published in the Yenidüzen newspaper, Kıb-Tek has a total receivable of 564 million 606 thousand Turkish Liras (about 211 million euros) from the market.

The institutions, whose debts should be paid by the “ministry of finance,” are among the top debtors. The total debt of these institutions amount to 54 million 964 thousand Turkish Liras (about 21 million euros).

On the other hand, Kıb-Tek owes a total of 391 million 261 thousand Turkish Liras (about 146 million euros) to the banks and the Foundations Directorate besides its VAT debt.

Calls for ordinary TCs in the occupied areas to stop paying their electricity bills as no-one else pays!

Turkish Cypriot daily Afrika newspaper (13.11.13) reports that self-styled minister of food, agriculture and energy, Onder Sennaroglu announced yesterday new electricity price increases up to 30% in the occupied area of the Republic of Cyprus, as a part of a project that allegedly aimed the achieving the sustainability of the so-called electricity authority (KIB-TEK)...

The paper calls on the people not to pay the bills, noting that "state institutions" do not pay, "municipalities" do not pay, luxury hotels do not pay, "universities" do not pay and those who are "influential" do not pay.

Bills, bills, bills and if they're sent to the Illegal Regime of "trnc", they will remain unpaid.

CY PIO has news that the CY Trades Unionists up there have again cut off supplies to various bodies for non-payment of electricity bills including our old friend the Baycrap propaganda agency...

"... Yeni Duzen newspaper (21.01.14) reports that El-Sen, the trade union of the workers of the “Turkish Cypriot Electricity Authority” cut off the electricity supply from “municipalities” and “state institutions” who did not pay their bill.

According to the paper, El-Sen cut out the electricity supply to four “state institutions”, one “ministry and five “municipalities” that own totally 20.284.479 Turkish Lira to the “Turkish Cypriot Electricity Authority”.

Among the places which were cut off are illegal Bayrak television station which owns 2.899.250 Turkish Lira, occupied Lefkosia “municipality” which owns 348.786 Turkish Lira and Lefka “municipality” which owns 8.384.000 Turkish Lira. In addition, the electricity supply was cut off to the “ministry of finance”, to the “Sports department”, and the “water affairs department”, and to the Morfou, Famagusta and Lapithos “municipalities”.

Speaking to the paper on behalf of El-Sen, Caglayan Cesurer stated that every kind of written and oral warning was issued to the “institutions” to pay up their debts, but these warnings were ignored. ..."
