It's not clear what language some spoke, but what we do know is that eg the Britons before the English invasions did not speak English nor for that matter worship the English gods. That only occurred later.
What you are oing is denying the separate and distinct identity of these particular ancient people. You complained about Hitler attacking Britain but that is just what happened with the invasion of the English, ie the Anglos and the Saxons that took place in that time frame, from say 500AD in what is now England.
They brought in eg the Germanic language that became English, their Gods and their culture... in 500AD
the usual bullshit diversionary tactics relying on outdated Historical arguments and off-topic absuditiestThere is an increasingly well respected body of thought which argues that in South and Eastenr Britain a Germanic language was being spoken since well before the Roman Invasion and the Saxon invasion is overstated. I am not denying there was no movement across the North Sea in the post Roman World but it was a part of a process that had been underway for many hundreds of years. That is however a topic for another thread.
Why are you getting upset dog? You and your foreign buddies use your diversionary tactics all the time to turn every topic into one offending the main ethnicity of the native Cypriot people. Why don't you treat Greeks in Cyprus the same way as you treat the English in Britain? What exactly is different other than the fact that we came to Cyprus much earlier than the English went to Britain? Absurdity is for an English to say that he is native of Britain, for some white second generation immigrant to call himself native Australian!!!! ... and at the same time to question that Greeks are native to Cyprus! Are you guys so stupid you don't even realize the bullshit you are writing??
What main ethnicity?
The main ethnicity is Cypriot. Greek never even existed before 1827!
It's just a modern construct that is much younger than the Australian and American ethnicity even.
You are talking a lot of crap
Australia:
Ethnic groups:
white 92%, Asian 7%, aboriginal and other 1%
https://www.cia.gov/library/publication ... os/as.htmlNo mention of "Australian ethnicity"
Cyprus:
Ethnic groups:
Greek 77%, Turkish 18%, other 5% (2001)
https://www.cia.gov/library/publication ... os/cy.htmlNothing like "Cypriot Ethnicity"
As far as Greek ethnicity being "modern construct"... even the word ethnicity comes from the Greek word Ethnos. The Greeks are the oldest ethnicity in Europe. We are the ones who defined what Ethnos means!
