A warm good evening to all you.... Plonkers !

Postby miltiades » Wed May 15, 2013 9:10 pm

Well, its been a long time, just over 2 years and 3 months since my last post, I'm back now for a day or so before returning to Cyprus, hopefully to knock some sense into the plonker politicians for ruining a healthy economy and taking my hard earned money, or rather stealing my dosh !Never dreamed that such a major economic disaster would ever befall on Cyprus.;
Before adding anything more I would like to extend my greetings to so many of my friends, and I start with my dear friend Deniz,
a giant of a man that I have so much respect for.
Bill and Jerry both of whom I met, before I fell asleep, Kifeas, the great man himself in all respects, our musician singer friend Kafenes, Bananiot whom I also have tremendous respect for, Halil, my dear friend who showed me around the occupied parts on many occasions, Iceman, Umit, our Aussie friends Humanist, Paphitis, the glamorous Bubbles and her other half Andy, not forgetting the political pundit Piratis, the non Cypriots Yialousa and Oracle (xxx) Nikitas from Varosi, the highly intelligent Repulse Warrior,Birkibrisly , Shazeneger !!!, a fantastic guy that I would love to meet and thank him for his generous contribution for Ayios Stephanos, and so many others excluding the absolute Plonkers !!!
Much has happened over the last 2 years, some good and some horrid, but life goes on.
I visit my beloved Cyprus almost every month, there's always a birthday, a Christening or a wedding such as the one I'm at tenting this coming Sunday and the of course the most stunningly beautiful sun rises one could experince anywhere in the world.
Sad that so many people lost their life's savings, but such a loss contributed or will contribute to the recovery of the economy so be it.
I'm coming to Cyprus absolutely ... broke and I'm wondering if GR would... buy me a drink!!!
Finally my thanks to Admin for allowing me to post again.
ps......

Oh God... it's on again! :?

Alright Miltiades... we'll buy you several drinks but under the following conditions:

1. A parent/guardian attends because I know you'll fall asleep half way through and they can drive you back home again.

2. DT attends because I'll need someone to talk to after you've fallen asleep.

3. The meet occurs in Nicosia because I hate driving to other towns. Oh, and it has to be after hours.

BillC can confirm that he's had the pleasure of meeting Pappou Milti, before he fell asleep.

Just wondering where have all the old timers gone, I can see that a few are still regular posters mostly concentrating on the same old political arguments, an area that I intend to participate infrequently since the same debates have been taking place for years now.
I spent over two years on the Cheapskates site northcyprusfreepress that ideally should be renamed as the Pollymarblesdriedupprune.com, who never seems to understand that all her problems and those of the rest of the uncouth unsophisticated so called ex-pats are self inflicted.
I stopped posting on the site some months back ( was not banned) but not without achieving to dispel popular myths regurgitated incessantly by some of these peasants, that is what the are, low class ex-council estate ignorant Brits excluding of course Malcolm ( I liked him ), who could have banned me on numerous times- many appealed to him to do so- but he is a smart guy, he knew that the likes of me, Jerry and Bill generated constant traffic to the site.
I sincerely hope that many of the old timers will find their way back into CF, I remember one guy freecyprus, a very genuine and a very Cypriot guy, where ever he is I wish him the best of luck.
I intend to avoid emotive and argumentative discussions and concentrate on ..."younger" rejuvenating ...activities which help to alleviate loneliness and boredom, after all at 67, but looking more like a ...31 year old, one needs to pack in as much life in readiness for the other world, although I have a "contract " expiring at the age of 101 !!!
I love my wine, especially red clarets but also the occasional chardonnay which I mostly drink in Cyprus, I hope there is enough on Friday when I arrive.
A family wedding is one of my favourite traditions and the occasion where you get to see family you have not seen for years. Its very exciting with all the children running around- Don't like weddings where children are excluded- after all such events are joyous celebratory traditions and without little children adding their contribution its all very dull.
I absolutely adore Greek music and I have been promised that the list of my favourite songs by some of the greatest Greek singers will be played, Stratos Dionisiou and his brilliant Taxitzis, Paliatzis, O Salionikos , Margaritis with that amazing voice and interpretation of laika tragoudia, the younger Nikos Macropoulos and the gorgeous blonde Natasa Theodoridou, Haris Alexiou and many many more.
You are all invited to come along with your ....fakelakia!!
Its what I love about Cyprus, our music, our dances, our traditions, our souvla fiestas, not to mention the greatest delicacy of them all, Ameletita and karaoli, our wonderful people and our gorgeous weather and scenery.
In my next post I shall reveal all about my ...arrival at Victoria station way back more than half a century, especially for GR, who never seems to get enough of my recollections, but he did promise to buy me a drink in Nicosia and hopefully as matured...young adults bury the hatchet and NOT in each others back!

For me Cyprus has always been paradise on earth, if only those noisy car and bike drivers would stay away ...
Have a great day, enjoy the sunshine.
