That flag - with the cross on top of the pole - is an Orthodox church flag and if it's near Maheras, there is a monastery where Afxentiou spent his last few weeks before the British trapped him in a cave and burnt him alive.

No one forced him to be a murdering scummy terrorist

He was a man in his OWN country!

Since no one forced the British to come to Cyprus, then you must be equally celebrating the death of each and every "scummy terrorist British soldier and his scummy wife" that ever came over uninvited.

don't worry, there is still plenty of room for you. The Brits are there just to increase your torment.

Divide and rule, perfectly applied and executed by Cap with this thread!

There’s far more to this dodgy character than meets the Rugby eye… :?

Hellenic Republic of Cyprus

...almost funny, but seriously, thinkaboutit.

if there is a Republic.

...and if there must be a Turkish Constituency, why not a Greek Constituency, and the longer i say it: Maronite, Armenian, and Latin, i think its fair for Cypriots to think of a British Constituency, as well. why not the recognition that Cyprus has an ethnography, that there are living parts, there are many, and that it is (in a mobile world) fluid. a sea of change is coming (no pun intended) soon. an adeptness to facilitate exchange is a Cypriot quality in which they've thrived over thousands of years. we are, as Citizens, fortunate to be, at this point cut down (all of us), because we will survive and grow stronger. but, who are Cypriots? These People of many Nations, who are its core, who represents this Freedom? a Cypriot State is needed, a Republic which can reform itself.

...and what is Liberty?

a Greek state; it being equal to other Cypriot states: the Republic is freed to be an equal to Global partners (ie. EU, Turkey, etc.).

No I m not celebrating the deaths of any one murdered by those scummy EOKA back shooting cowards. Fucking brave shooting women in the back. And IMHO you are just as bad by describing an innocent victim as scummy. He'll is to good a place for you.

Stud,

Afxentiou was not a terrorist! Do not associatr him with GD or NAZIS!

Another thing, he was a Lieutenant of the Greek Army. As an officer he was respected by those he led, who would rather die in the cave than leave his side. He had to boot them out into the hands of the British.

If this man is in HELL, which I doubt, then that is where I want to go! I want to be with him!

But we all know who is in hell or isn't if such a place exists!

Furthermore, this man deserves respect and admiration! The British Servicemen he fought did that by dedicating a poem to a man the likes they have never seen before!
