USA NATO & EU "Solution before Gas"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I dont understand. The gas has not been factored in to the debt's sustainability. The eurogroup/troika/EU did not want to use it as collateral. It will take about 5 years to get the gas to market, There is a 10 year grace period on the loan. The Cypriot economy should recover fully by then.

It costs money to explore for hydrocarbons VP. The company's will want good time value for money. what you are suggesting is that they (the company's) pay to sit around until Turkey finds a solution to the Cyprus problem? If not, Turkey will blow someone or something up?

The loans are at something like 2% interest... hardly "crippling" rates.

On 10 billion Euro and 2 billion from the ruskies....who else have the GCs been begging money from IMF?

Errr... which bit of the rates are something like 2%, which are not crippling rates as you claim, are you having trouble getting your head around...??? ... and the contribution from the IMF is included in the figures.

Oh and by the way a 2% interest rate is less than the rate of inflation in the Eurozone, so it's an interest-free loan... in real terms 0%.

No doubt you'll tell us next that interest rates of 0% are "crippling"...

Turkey has a minimum of 5 years to pressurize the GC into a solution and can cause you a number of headaches with legal and political claims over the natural resources to tie you and any company that would attempt to extract gas into knots or shut down completely, blowing the rigs up would be the very last option if nothing panned out as planned but an option never the less. you can buy anything nowadays even trained arsonists.

Do you know what the national debt of the south is today and how much it is going to increase and what they will pay this back with? their national debt will exceed their GDP, the economical crunch is yet to hit the south but when it does it will not be pretty, with a bit of luck you may fuck off back to your own country and leave us alone.

We might as well forget about that, just fast forward to blowing up the gas rigs.

May I suggest, the next time Erdogan starts issuing threats, Israel should blow up a rig and hold him responsible for it! :P

You GCs havent got a clue about anything, Turkey claims rights via the TCs and as long as there is no solution that leaves Turkey out of the equation we give them this right as they are also fighting our corner just as you are trying to get Israel to do the same. Thats why its really in your benefit to find a solution as this type of natural resource can be just as much a curse as benefit....Turkey Israel Iran or even the Martians blowing up a rig is not the point, the point is that income is not available and with debts well over your GDP and no additional income form these resources and you will be worse off than Greece. The choice is yours a solution or the complications of the international arena of political and manipulative games that will cause you many headaches and economcal bottlenecks.

Loada half-baked and badly-written pollocks.

1.... All those loans from the Troika amount to 10 Billion Euros...

...CY's GDP is in excess of 20 Billion Euros...!!! ... so where do you get "debts well over your GDP" from...???

... and only a daft Fascist Fool who can't do Maths would think that the Republic would have problems servicing a loan of less than 50% GDP at a zero real rate of interest.

2.... The Republic uses International Law to protect its EEZ.

... If Turkey has a problem with that, if Turkey had a legal leg to stand on, it would take the matter and the Republic to the International Court of Justice.

... but of course, Turkey has no valid position in International Law and so the normal legal channel in International Law isn't open and so it has to use the bullying threats we've seen over the past years...

... So Turkey abiding by International Law... GR's Bum...!!! ...

So go on and do your worst ... send in the Rust Bucket Piri Reis II ... ... oh and send in Bagis the Clown to kill us through busting a gut with laughter...
