The PIO of the Republic do a daily precis in English of what is reported in the papers up there but whoever does it is too amateurish, misses a lot of opportunities and in the main merely lazily regurgitates the propaganda of "trnc".

Turk hating fanatics of Cyprus Forum. Good job Lemon.cy doesn't have a comments facility, EU would have to close it down.

What do you mean on the Cyprus forum, don't you know EVERYONE HATES the Turks.  And that's no joke!

Not me....

Nor me. I hate what Turkey, fanatic Turks and Turkish Cypriots like Denktash, Erdo, Ecevit, have done to Cyprus.

How on earth those who hate all Turks ever expect a solution to the Cyprus Problem is beyond me. It's an unfortunate fact of life but, like it or not, we have to talk to these people if we ever want a settlement.

I'm not too keen on the carpetbaggers either, in fact I despise the opportunist scum.

Sadly, the reality is that there are more Greek-hating fanatics on CF. Both among the ex-pat Brits who live freely in Cyprus as well as many GCs mostly from abroad. Not to mention the Turks.

All in all - there's a lot of cosseting and pussy-footing around the real enemies of Cyprus that occupy half our country. Spinelessness reigns supreme, as we all care more about our personal finances and well-being than our heritage. :(

Are you expecting to find a solution to the Cyprus problem from the minority of Turks that you do not hate? Its the majority of Turks who support and believe in the Denktash, Erdogan, Eroglu, Davutoglu, Bagis and the other opportunistic scum doctrines.

I don't know but what I do know is that a solution requires negotiating with the other side however much you dislike them. Those who express their hatred for Turks here (they don't even bother to differentiate between TCs and mainlanders) simply perpetuate and re-inforce the division. They give the TCs all the ammunition they need to show the world that we can't live together.

How would you resolve the situation - war?

A Turk is a Turk and a TC should differentiate themselves from them. If not, they are Turkish too.

All I know is that Turkey and Turkishness must withdraw from Cyprus, recognise and respect her sovereign integrity, open ports and airspace and settle the damages.

All those opportunistic scum, Illegals, ex-pats and Turkish settlers should take a 100% haircut on their looted properties. Turkey should compensate them for this loss with a property in Turkey. In the meantime, all those business in the occupied areas get scooped up by the RoC. Illegals can have a temporary work permit from the RoC to cover a transitional period so they can make arrangements to depart from Cyprus. EU ex-pats are entitled to stay, with all contributions, taxes etc going to the RoC and not the "TRNC" moving forwards.

can the situation be resolved without a war? what does Turkey say as the occupier?

I agree 100% with what you say should happen but the reality is we can't make it happen except by attempting to invoke international law and trying to get it enforced, and, of course, talking to the other side.

I'm sure Turkey would love to see another war on the island, they would grab another 37% and offer to return half of it as a "compromise" and final solution to the Cyprus problem.

so the resolution of the Cyprus problem is the dissolution of Turkey.

Hey, you've got the answer, let's dissolve Turkey, let's invade the mainland tomorrow
Obviously that is what should happen but somehow I don't think it will.
