Cyprus needs to prepare for the Oil and Gas Boom!

Postby Paphitis » Fri May 10, 2013 4:42 pm

Cyprus needs to spend the next for years preparing itself for the impending Oil and Gas Boom by investing in Oil and Gas education so that in the next for years some young Cypriots can graduate from Petroleum Engineering degrees and such like.

Cyprus will need to build a foundation of skilled individuals so that the country can better capitalize and exploit this rich resource and become an 'energy center'.

Isn't that rather obvious? One of my sons is already studying for qualifications in this field.

Yes it is obvious! I hope this is happening!

Where is your son studying? What is he studying?

actually its funny you mentioned this Paphitis, but recently i read that the University of Cyprus, just opened up 25 spots for their graduate program in petrochemical engineering...

the possibilities are endless in this field considering that everything from tires to plastics to band aids are made from petroleum.

Fantastic! :D

But it does not stop there! We have not even scratched the service. The opportunities are endless.

Cypriot Education Institutions need to look at other countries. Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Australia come to mind.

Maybe they can get into some good collaborations!

Young Cypriots you will be looking for solid careers in the Oil and Gas field, will need to make the right decisions. These types of careers are very lucrative as well.
