So on what basis do you distinguish between who gets to have jobs here and who doesn't? If it is not "race", then what is the criterion? You have already ruled out Cypriotness by explicitly stating that Turkish Cypriots are excluded.

I am not posting BS, mate, you are, because you are showing that you don't even understand your own ideology. If it is not based on race, what is it based on? That is not BS. That is a simple question.

Tim, pay no attention to this idiot!

Cyprus needs people like you to invest and live their lives as productive individuals. That is the only way Cyprus can recover from where it is now!

In fact we need more foreigners! Foreigners with certain skills that can benefit our economy.

However, cheap labour sources from Eastern countries like Bulgaria and Romania is something the Cypriot Unions and the RoC Government will need to address because it is true that some businesses are manipulating the system and recruiting cheap labour somehow!

Thanks for that. I have rubbed shoulders with Cypriots of all communities in my time here and have found virtually everybody to be warm, welcoming, tolerant and open minded. Then I come to this place. I really sometimes ask myself who the real Cypriots are.

Even so, given that I live here and ELAM may come to power, surely I am entitled to inquire as to what lies in store for me if they do?

ELAM will never come to power.

If they were not able to get more votes in the last election when Cyprus was in crisis and facing default, and a total banking collapse, then it will never take off.

Cypriots are not fanatical extremist right wingers by nature.

You are right. Red rag to a bull.

Even so, given the opportunity to deny that their policy is to send all people who are not pure-blooded Greeks to the gas chambers, there was no denial. I can only thus presume that this is the kind of thing these retards drool about in the gutters where they congregate.

I wonder if they will use German Zyklon-B, or invent a superior Greek gas?

What is my fate as a foreigner living in Cyprus if ELAM comes to power? Sorry, but I am still confused. I would really love to know.

Tim , I don't think he has an answer...

When you look through previous posts he has never really given any substantial arguments for his often snide little comments.

He reminds me of some of the persons here in the UK and I dare say in every country/community of the world.

I worked for many years in mental health and many of the patients seemed to have similar blinkered views about all sorts of subjects without being able to give constructive reasoning behind them...Often it was a case of ''my dad says *****s should be kicked out therefore its true and right...''

I don't completely agree with Kuru.

We need high caliber foreign investors.
There's a need to increase competitiveness in order to drive prices down, promote excellence and increase the quality of products and services.
Cypriot companies have monopolized the market via cartels so nobody loses out on their share of the market.

The result is that wages remain low, prices high, goods and services of low quality.

Then the government wants us to support rip off prices to keep Cypriot businesses afloat,
No way mate.
If the prices are competitive and reasonable I'll be more than happy to take preference in local businesses.
If not, I'll look elsewhere where it suits my pocket.

If it was beneath his dignity, as pure-bred Greek, to engage in dialogue with a barbarian, I could partially respect that, but he has in fact interacted with me in this thread, so I can't be that. He is the one who burst out and told us what will happen when we (ELAM) come to power. Surely I as a foreigner living in Cyprus have more than an academic interest in knowing what my fate will be if these fascists come to power?

I know what you mean. I have come into contact with a lot of fascists in my life (but I have never met one in Cyprus) and, try as hard as I can to avoid stereotypes, I have come to the conclusion that none of them are particularly intelligent.

I saw something interesting in Limassol today. An estate agency had lots of posters in Chinese in its windows. It seems that Cyprus is now trying to attract Chinese property buyers. Now, I wonder what facsist ELAM's policy is on this? Any ELAM spokesperson out there care to elaborate? Chinese - they come from Asia, you know, and they have slit eyes, I mean, they are a bit like the Turks (in fact there is a region of China where they ARE Turks, heaven forbid). Does ELAM support the sale of property in Cyprus to Chinese citizens and how will this work, given, if my understanding is correct, foreigners are permitted to live here for a maximum of two years? Hardly worth them buying a property then. Perhaps they should know what ELAM's policy is in this matter before parting with their money, just in case?

It would be especially interesting to know what ELAM's policy regarding the sale of property to Uighurs (considered to be a Turkic people) who are also Chinese citizens. Does a special bar apply to them?

ELAM is a Greek covert operation.
Run by foreigners from Greece, the few delusional Cypriots are working under the auspices of Golden Dawn.
Their interests lie first and foremost with Greece and not with Cyprus.

I don't think anyone has anything to worry about from any of the democratically elected representatives.

Even the Greek "fascists" are pro-European and have no problem with Europeans legally working/residing in Cyprus or Greece. You cannot say the same about BNP/EDL/NF/UKIP or even most Tories, because they want OUT of Europe asap!

As for foreign-worker controls - every single country has them. Nationals have first refusal (and remember "Greek" and "Cypriot" are nationalities that anyone can acquire if they fit the passport requirements) and foreign applicants can then apply. Same in all European countries (and tougher in others, USA etc).

Interesting NYT video here:

And one from Antenna:

And a video of an elected representative of Golden Dawn which is a "brother political movement" of ELAM assaulting a representative from another party on live TV:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhyEXgk0Q-8

But don't worry Tim! We have nothing to worry about!
