Unfortunately, it's mostly the southern European countries that suffer the most from the EU trading with Turkey.
Cheap labour is Turkey’s only desirable asset… not that the EU can’t find it elsewhere in Asia etc.
The Americans are the only people on the planet who find Turkey “useful” aside from cheap labour, although I haven’t figured out yet how they have benefited from Turks.
Maybe a TC can enlighten us...
