In my view, the goal of Enosis was not only wrong but catastrophic. The focus should have been on a free and independent Cyprus that would embrace all of its citizens treating all as equal.

Add to this that the above goal was only a camouflage for their ultimate goal which was unquestionably enosis which for us meant our signed death warrant...thats why we had to fight back and did, without enosis taksim would never have been adopted by the TCs.

Now do you understand where we come from when we try to defend ourselves against the same ideology which wants to reduce us to minority status in our own country.

Lets look at this way VP. According to British figures during the British rule, the G/Cs were 80% the T/Cs were 18% and the rest others.
Just as the 20 or so millions of Kurds in Turkey form the minority, I don't see how the T/Cs can be any different.
In the UK there a myriad of minorities, just live with it.
If as you say the T/Cs are not a minority would you say the Armenians and Maronites are? Maybe you consider that the G/Cs as a minority.
Personally, minorities and majorities do not matter as long as all are equal citizens enjoying equal rights without discrimination or the fear of being undermined by the law.
Minority is generally a term used universally to describe a lesser numerical value but that does not diminish either the rights or the value of a minority. Since you call Cyprus your own country, do you consider that it is also the country of the G/Cs, if so, and I'm sure you do, then however you look at it you can not possibly accept that the G/Cs are not the overwhelming majority on the island. Demographic changes introduced by Turkey do not count.

claret no matter what the numbers the founding nations are never a minority and reserve the right to go their own way. the scotts and the welsh and the irish are prime examples. to then give an example of the kurds and say tcs should have the same is stupid. if the kurds were slaves should the tcs be slaves too. total nonsense what you should strive for is the kurds to have the same deal as the tcs.

VP, the Zurich constitution granted the T/Cs 30% of parliamentary seats !! Could that have implied that the T/Cs were the minority?
As for your comments on Scotland and Wales, no comparison, as the two nations have existed for thousands of years, the so called trnc is a fallacy and can never be sustained as a separate country within a country, one of the reasons that recognition has never occurred.
Its ludicrous to suggest that the T/Cs were not a minority in Cyprus, it makes no sense, facts are available from British population census showing clearly that the overwhelming majority of the Cypriot people were G/Cs, therefore the T/Cs, Armenians and Maronites were the minority.
Are you also questioning the most fundamental democratic principle of one man one vote? Or that the majority wins an election and rules.

In the UK, politics is divided along ideological lines and not ethnic lines.

When apartheid was abolished and a normal democracy was established in the RoC in 1963, left wing TCs that wanted to participate were exterminated by the TMT.

i think you are more delusional than you realise. wales and scotland and england are based on politics and not ethnics you say and you have to be joking. how many seats does snp or plaid cymru win in england.

and eoka left the gc communists alone did they. they did not beat a man with wood with 6 inch nails sting out of them in front of his children. they did not tie a man to a tree outside a church and get the children to stone him to death followed by urinating on him. you will never be more then assholes looking for others for the crimes you have committed.

claret Im seriously having doubts about your ability to understand the difference between minority and partner, we were owners of the whole of this island with rights under the 1960 agreements which give us veto....do you know what a veto is? No one can take this away unless we agree, so get it into your thick skull that we are not just a minority we are indigenous owners of this island who will never give up their rights for minority status in a Gc run state, we have 37% control over the land and if the offers for a solution are not better than what we have today we would rather stay as we are or even unite with Turkey if recognition doesnt come. Never forget the political panorama continously changes todays unrecognized countries can be recongnized oevr night if thats what the big boys want.

In order to compromise we have moved down from full taksim and have accepted the UN baked proposals od BBF with polictical equality of the 2 states, its the GCs who still to this day want to reduce us down to minority states in a GC run state thats why they will never agree a BBF solution.

VP, I seriously believe that you are the one having difficulties in recognizing that in a partnership there exists a minor partner, as indeed in shareholdings in company where again you have major and minor share holders.
The T/Cs were awarded a 30% share under the Zurich agreement, that in itself is evidence that the T/Cs were a minority. You can not change a reality.
I do not wish to go down the historical route and remind you that while the G/Cs have been on the island for a few thousand years the T/Cs a few hundred, So don't give rubbish that your propaganda machine feeds you. The total number of T/Cs in 1960 amounted to 120,000. British figures.
Do also understand that partnerships are not always 50% -50%.
You were not even born in Cyprus, how on earth you personally can claim this island as your own. No VP, Cyprus belongs to the indigenous Cypriots, G/Cs and T/Cs, it just happens that the T/Cs were and always will be a minority. This does not affect their rights or diminishes their right to call Cyprus their country FACT.
You are a Turk, a mainland Turk, your motherland IS Turkey so hop off old boy.
