Political Equality & Resumption of Talks

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Political Equality & Resumption of Talks

Postby bill cobbett » Mon Apr 29, 2013 12:40 pm

The Fam Gaz reports on statements by the CY Minister of Defense Fotis Fotiou that before the talks are resumed Turkey will have to abandon its intransigent position on a settlement... and to "come to the negotiating table in a constructive manner".

He goes on to also say that before the talks are taken up again the underlying basis of the talks be reaffirmed and in particular he picks up on the phrase "political equality" that the Partitiionist Taksimists have so much trouble understanding.

..."The solution of the Cyprus problem, he said, must provide for a state which will have a single international personality, a single sovereignty and a single citizenship.

In addition, he said that “political equality does not mean numerical equality or equal distribution of resources”. The term political equality, he said, is outlined in the UN resolutions...."

Now can some of us get that in to thick heads...

Political Equality as defined by UN Resolutions.
