Oh ..... my ..... gawd ......!!!

I am soooo sorry ..... I just can't help myself ...... I simply must ....

I should leave you boys to your games of which one of you is most likely to earn a Darwin Award if let loose in a lab ...

Meanwhile, here's a clue to survival:

GiG is more on track with this one.

I have read the article quite carefully: in essence they claim that if you inject CO2 you will get out CO + 0 and if you inject H20 you get out H2 + 0. They are not seeking to say if you put in CO2 you get any H2 Out, only if you insert H20.(it is not very well written)

H2 is the correct formula for Hydrtogen gas (not heavy hydrogen) as it consists of two atoms of hydrogen.

Now you can extract the Hydrogen gas (H2) from water by this means one can use it for fuel cells or blend it with CO to make other burnable substances.

whether this is feasible or not let alone on any commercial basis I do not know.

Yes, a far more promising approach is work in the USA in which cyanobacteria have been genetically modified to produce ethanol as a waste product.

A pretty advanced commercial project in which a firm has set up a large first phase production plant to rear the bacteria.

Will try and find a ref to this very interesting work later.

Strictly speaking H2, the chemical formula for Hydrogen...

Hydrogen-2, H-2, ²H is Deuterium

But you are correct, to say it is not very well written would be an understatement....

Yes, this is the firm doing it at the mo... looks like they have some very serious financial backing...

What they simply do is to reverse the combustion process (or electrolysis, etc.), and produce (or recover) fuel.

This is possible, but to achieve it you will need an efficient energy source, which in the case of sunlight is not an efficient one.

Think how well they burn tho...

The problem with alternative fuels is that petrol is incredibly energy dense... providing an alternative to petrol (be it charging a battery or splitting water into Hydrogen and Oxygen or any other means) requires vast amounts of sunlight and/or huge areas of production facilities...

I think there is more than is being said about cheap fuel, I'm one of the people who thinks we have been pushed down the fossil fuel road, by the people with the money! However, looking round the US Army and Energy commission are looking at using Heavy Hydrogen, one in fuel cells and one in 'Fusion'. It is worth more time and has been put on my 'to read' list.... Better than fiction sometimes :)

It’s all bullshit dudes…

The only untapped energy source that can rival hydrocarbons in terms of quantity is Lordo’s rear end.
