WikianswersThere have been no recorded shark attacks in Cyprus, there are no whales either. Sting rays and when it some times the weather causes jellyfish to appear - They are red and easily spotted - The beaches also put warnings out when there are Jelly Fish - But they have not been a problem.

On the tuna run from Malta/ Adriatic I bet. Those areas are breeding grounds for great whites, although their migratory patterns remain a mystery for the most part.
