Turkey would choose TRNCyprus over EU membership.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You always argued the contrary that Turkey would never choose the TRNC over EU.

I dont remember that. I am suitably convinced that Turkey can not qualify in the first place.

Been following this debate and I'd like to ask a question... Surely Turkey cannot become a full EU member whilst not recognising a fellow EU member state as a country? i.e The R.O.C. So does that not make Turkeys application untenable and therefore whether it would choose the 'TRNC' over the EU academic?

What politicians say to appease certain groups and what they officially do behind the scenes are often two different things.

Turkey cannot become a full EU member whilst occupying and not recongising another member. Out of 35 accession chapters, it has taken Turkey 8 years to close one chapter

Turkey knew what the qualification criteria and expectations are for full membership before signing up.

So basically this whole post is pointless? Just looked it up, they applied for EU membership on 14 April 1987, and In a visit to Germany on 31 October 2012, Turkish Prime Minister R.T. Erdoğan made clear that "Turkey was expecting membership in the Union to be realised by 2023, the 100th Anniversary of the Turkish Republic", implying that they could end membership negotiations if the talks had not yielded a positive result by then.
