Each one registered under different flag, GR.

Ah yes... different registers... of course.

VP, it make no difference where I live or what my ethnicity is.
As far as my interest in Cyprus, all of it, that stems from my love for the island and its people, I don't differentiate between the G/Cs and the T/Cs as I look at both as Cypriots who are in a way victims of the two so called motherland nations.
It might surprise you that I'm genuine in my feelings irrespective of my ethnicity which I shall reveal on my 100th post when I will say farewell to Cyprus Forum.
In the meantime please be patient.

Hitler and Stalin were human beings too, mate. Do you feel sorry for their death? :?

And yes, we are at war. The war will finish when our land is free again.

Well ....mate, Hitler and to a certain extend Stalin were responsible for the deaths of thousands, surely you are not comparing simple crewmen to those two, or are you?
I will not pass judgement on anyone on this forum, all I can say is that the criteria for measuring an individuals level of civility is that individuals ability to show compassion without denigrating the death of any human.

...i don't say you are wrong Paphitis, but i'd like to say, originally i ignored this topic, it was obvious that the ship was not the one in the same that does research, carrying grain in bulk. it still galls me how such low brow "humour" scores a point for the Freedom we all desire. more like "Greek" humour, how is that different to the humour of "Turks"?

...again, i ask you vp, weren't you born in Great Britain? just curious, since "origins" are so important to you; when did you arrive in Cyprus?

Yeah, ok, let us see how you would feel when your husband/wife gets murdered raped, children killed and your property stolen. Then come and tell us about this compassion. It's easy when you are an outsider to spout this compassion stuff. You need to get a better understanding of the bad blood that exists.

The day turkey goes up in smoke, would be the greatest day of my life.

I can see you are one of the ...protagonists in the struggle to unite Cyprus !! Clearly views such as the ones expressed by you are not the least constructive in reaching an amicable solution that would lead to unification.
I don't have to read much in anyone's posts on this forum to draw a conclusion on their.. philosophy.
I find it interesting that the more "Turkish" or "Greek" a Cypriot is the more likely that he or she harbors an intense anti G/C or anti T/C sentiment (VP, GIG come to mind) which reenforces my view that the two foreign nations, ie Turkey and Greece are wholly responsible, to a lesser or greater extent, for the current political situation in Cyprus, not to mention of course the current economic situation caused by corruption, mismanagement and exposure to the Greek "motherland".
You will never see Turkey going up in flames, but you might see a turkey burning in the oven.
