You are probably not familiar with the recent history of this particular ship and that’s the problem here.

That’s the danger of taking a sudden interest in details pertaining to Cyprus… you’ve missed all the previous things that took place that are relevant.

I have to admit I'm not at all conversant with either current or past history relating to this particular ship, as for taking a "sudden " interest in Cyprus's history, I must correct you, you are wrong, my knowledge, hence my interest in Cyprus is much more than you could possibly imagine.
The comment I made concerning the deaths, as a result of the ship's fate, is a purely humanitarian and not political in any sense. Hope you understand.

I said details pertaining to Cyprus (not major headlines) and the Piri Reis is one such detail that you're not familiar with and that's why you assumed we took joy in the death of Syrian seamen! :?

However, we are not interested in the foreign crew and may they RIP.

In a nutshell, the Piri Reis was the Turkish ship that was threatening Cyprus (and cheered on by TCs) that had the audacity to enter Cypriot waters in its alleged quest to find hydrocarbons and compete with the RoC.

There are plenty of threads here addressing those incidents.

I was not aware of this ships activities in relation to what you have now outlined.
Nevertheless, my earlier regrets of loss of life are not impaired.

claret we are still waiting for you to tell us your ethnic origins and which country you live in, maybe you can also tell us why you are so interested in South Cyprus and the TRNC.

GR, I believe these are two different Piri Reis ships and the one that has sunk, is not the one you are referring to. The Piri Reis you are talking about had a bad engine last time it was in the news a while back.

I’m sure you now see how easy it is for a newcomer without the background knowledge to jump to conclusions and subsequent condemnations.

The people who have been contributing here for years knew EXACTLY what I was talking about with that post and will not have been surprised when a forum scoundrel like Lordo twisted the post into a "GCs being insensitive to dead crewmen" which you utterly fell for!

Thanks for the pics Kiks, I did have a private chat with Bill who also doubted the boat and we were left wondering how two Turkish boats could have the same registered name!

The Piri-piri has sunk!

you clearly are a very sick person, laughing at people who have died. perhaps doubling the medication is in order.

Their stupidity killed them. Be careful because you have the same problem.

I second that Lordo.

...sorry GR, i must say that it (your comment) is too easy and cheap, you are better than this; aren't you?

Freedom for Cyprus, Liberty too, i love Cyprus first and i like being Greek, i am no "Greek".

...humour me, are you willing to say that, for the benefit of the rest of us GR?

...kurupetos, things do go round and round, i choose, the way, aren't you Greek?

I am a Greek Cypriot. The majority of Greek Cypriots is stupid too for electing treasonous and incompetent politicians. I am not part of that majority.

Hitler and Stalin were human beings too, mate. Do you feel sorry for their death? :?

And yes, we are at war. The war will finish when our land is free again.
