Btw, Greeks are the most native Cypriots... the rest are minorities that came to Cyprus in the last few centuries.

Here was I thinking that the Cypriots were on the island some 6,500 years before the Greeks arrived in 1500 bc.
Correct me if I'm wrong please Sir.

Seems like you are confusing nations with prehistoric tribes  There was a time that no nation existed ... saying that Cypriots are not Greek because some prehistoric people who lived in Cyprus were not yet Greek is the most idiotic argument ever because the same argument can be made for just about every other major nation in the world. Our nation has 3500 years of history in Cyprus ... the English have less than half of that in Britain... the Turks, the "Americans" and the "Australians" not even a fifth ;)

We’ve already established a long time ago Sotos that you’ve got the IQ of a penguin so please spare the forum of your childish stupidities!

I fail to recognise anything stupid or childish in what Sotos has said.

I was merely pointing out that Cypriots had lived on the island for thousands of years before the Greeks arrived.
Ever wondered what happened to those "prehistoric" Cypriots ?
Did penguins also lived in Cyprus all those years ago?
Don't get me wrong, I was not having a dig at the Greeks or Greece, but I think most will agree that Cyprus has never benefited by its relationship with Greece, on the contrary, 40% of Cyprus was occupied by Turkey as a direct result of the Greek connection, and let us not forget the present economic disaster, again the interaction with Greece has been anything but beneficial to the people of Cyprus.

Prehistoric people lived on earth for 10s of thousands of years before ANY nation arrived. So what? Just because you call those prehistoric people "Cypriots" it doesn't mean they were a nation... they were just individual settlements from people who came from different places at various times in history!

Ever wondered what happened to those "prehistoric" Cypriots ?

The same thing that happened to all prehistoric people... why should it be any different for Cyprus?

Did penguins also lived in Cyprus all those years ago?

The chances of that are as high as "claret21" being a new member

If we were not Greeks and we were some obscure little tribe then the Turks would have swallowed us long time ago.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

I said you twits were the one's being clever by playing power politics as if you were 50, 100 or 300 million and for that we all paid a very heavy price! Idiot!

You are now embarrassing yourself! Please stop it!

You are saying the Greeks legitimately colonized an island with pre-historic nomadic peoples despite having built up settlements and yet you say Australians, Americans and Canadians illegaly invaded and colonized!

Which is it Sotos? You are all over the place!

Clearly the idiot is the one who constantly creates sockpuppets trying to fool others but he always fails  You call white people in Australia "Australians" even though they've been there for just 200 years and then you say that Greeks can not be Cypriot after 3500 years on this island

Being Greek or German or Egyptian is not a set of genetic traits and features, it's the acceptance of a certain identity, culture, education and language.

Nationalities are entirely arbitrary and manmade.

If both Greek and Turkish Cypriots want we can go forward and forge a new 'Cypriot' identity. All the same, talking about the origins of our different ancestors thousands of years ago is absolute bollocks and a waste of time.
