I agree with you about promoting eco-tourism and the need to reduce petroleum usage; but, there are a great number of people through age or disability who simply cannot participate in active sports - so there is room for some safaris.
On the other hand - I think surfing and a lot of water-sport activities also use a lot of petroleum products and kill and destroy sea life. We had a turtle wash up on our beach with wounds that looked like they had been done by a propeller.
Eco bah. But as GIG says careful with the Turtle, throttle back and watch where your going..... cos they're great!!!!!
