I'm hoping to move to cyprus from the uk and would like some advice from those who have already taken the plunge!!! We're hoping to rent initially and just need an idea of the logistics of moving and things like visas we may need etc...

Any help and advice would be much appreciated

High Commission, actually, since Cyprus is a member of the Commonwealth.

PS - You will probably find that, since you will not be contributing to the local social insurance scheme, obtaining a yellow slip is conditional on having comprehensive private health insurance.

A word of caution - the immigration departments do not have the reputation of being the most friendly of government departments to deal with.

Lol thanks, I'm used to unfriendly but ill bear it in mind:-) is it a fairly friendly place to live though? We're aiming for pathos/secret valley area which I knw is fairly secluded but that's really what I'm looking for...

It is a very friendly place. That would be Pafos or Paphos, by the way.
