North Korea on the warpath.

North Korea on the warpath.

You guys think you got problems! How about this one.

North Korea has escalated matters on the Korean Peninsula with South Korea on high alert.

It has threatened South Korea and US with a nuclear attack. South Korea and US have been careful not to escalate things so far but the US is monitoring the situation very closely with AEGIS Destroyers which are able to detect any missile launch.

North Korea has also warned all Foreign Embassies that it will be unable to guarantee their safety as if to insinuate that North Korea will come under attack. Cue for Cyprus to close down its embassy.

Other possible targets for North Korea might be Japan, and Australia as both have massive joint military bases and thousands of US troops and are important allies.

It is understood that North Korea's missiles have a range of at least 10,000 km.

China is furious with North Korea because a war with the US does not serve well its own interests.

All looks fairly serious as North Korea has sent its missiles to their launchers.

Something might be going on and the 45,000 US Troops recently stationed in Australia and more troops being stationed in Japan might not be superficial after all.

Tensions are increasing in South Korea and Japan, and I don't believe Australia is safe either if North Korea's new supreme leader is really this crazy.

One US military official has warned North Korea that any attack against South Korea or even Japan or US will be an act of suicide...

Pure insanity if you ask me. I can't believe North Korea is this stupid. Surely they know that the US has hundreds of nuclear weapons of its own which they will probably use if attacked with nuclear weapons? :?

Think I might migrate to Cyprus!

At most there will be a skirmish… something that happens every few years between them.

My Gardener says that this is 'just hot air', as the Psy-lookalike tries to get credibility within his own failed nation.

Well, dear me, I have to say that my gardener tells me that this is actually a great sign of N. Korean weakness.

What do other people's gardeners have to say about this?

Yes Svetlana.

This is the main scenario the US is banking on or hoping for.

But at the same time it appears no one is taking any chances and this game to gain credibility is a very dangerous one. Let's hope cool heads prevail because it won't take much for things to get out of hand.

A few months ago, North Korea tested a missile and its trajectory overflew Japan and about a year ago their Artillery was pounding South Korean border villages.

Now I understand why there is a buildup in Asia Pacific.

Now that I have a bit more time, here is my assessment.

The situation is serious, very serious. As Ban Ki Moon said, the North Koreans have gone too far with their rhetoric. Hopefully it remains just rhetoric but Asian Leaders are taking this as a serious threat.

http://m.guardian.co.uk/world/video/201 ... ence-video

Japan has banned all North Korean shipping.

Australian PM is flying out to China to meet with President Jinping and Premier Keqiang to bolster bilateral and trade ties even more. The agenda will however be dominated by North Korea. Australia will be asking China to pressure North Korea into backing down. They may also be asking what China will do if North Korea keeps true to its word.

Now this could be all engineered (we hope) by North Korea so that the supreme leader can turn around and tell his people that he averted catastrophe by defeating the US and South Korea thus cementing the Supreme Leader's God like cult status as spiritual leader of the People's Republic of North Korea. It may be a case of Kim Jong-un is stamping his authority over the people and military.

Yes I like to think that Kim Jong-un is not as crazy as he portrays. But his antics are elaborate and designed to heightened tensions. Images were released of him drawing up battle plans against South Korea and US, obviously as a show of strength to his people.

Nevertheless, this whole situation is quite serious INMHO. North Korea is definitely a wild card and no one really knows what they are capable of and what they are prepared to do. Surely they understand that a Nuclear Attack will ensure their complete destruction as well as the death of a million or 2 of their civilians. In the old days during the Cold War, you can rely on the US and USSR not doing anything stupid because of their Nuclear Weapons. You would like to think that the North Koreans are the same but the rhetoric is a lot different and far tougher than the old USSR.

US, South Korea, Japan, Australia and China are really concerned, as North Korea has verbally vowed to attack South Korea and US. This could also mean a possible attack on Japan and Australia. China will abandon North Korea if that is the case so they will be all alone. Chinese and Australian relations are tight, very tight.

No one has ever seen a regime behave in this manner before with such stupidity! :?

They even took Catastrofias' guinness record. I bet they bought his step by step DVD series on how to ruin your country.
