Its happened before and it will happen again in any professional army,but Cyprus has a rag tag army,I have a Cypriot friend,lives in Limassol ,asked him if the Turks start to move over the Green Line what are his orders,"" assemble his weapon and stand by the phone", wheres your weapon, " not sure but some parts are under the bed", any ammo, "nah sold it to a fella in town" that is a true story.

But wait, I can't recall a friendly fire incident when Turkey invaded other than the Greek Noratlas Mission into Nicosia Airport which was mainly due to Greek Incompetence since they failed to inform the CNG.

Each reservist is the custodian of the specific serial number so anyone who loses his rifle is liable for serious imprisonment and fine, so don’t believe pub stories about selling them and such!
