I lived in Germany and I can assure you that the common German folk are not very fond of Lidl themselves.

This is the reason why: http://www.ecchr.de/lidl-case/articles/ ... ments.html

Lidl is nothing but a dirty multinational corporation that outsources labour to poor countries with poor working laws, then puts European price tags on their products.

Fuck Lidl.

With our income and 5 (rescued dogs) we buy where the prices are the ok, we just have to and we for sure we are not the only ones!
The supermarket in the village sells 1kg of maccaronia for 1,50 E. At Lidl or Papanadoniou we get it for 50 cents.
Should we support Orphanides??
Come on, life is not that easy and there is definitely not only black and white! I know some woman who work at LIDL, not a perfect job, but they need the money!
congratulations, if you can afford your silly boykotts. Many peple can't!

My Mum married a German , he died a little time ago, she misses him dearly, but she has already stopped shopping in Lidl. When the thieves postponed the opening of the banks the first time, I phoned her and said if you can get any money do, and buy long term storage food, and I suggested Lidl, nope she said I'm buying from the Cypriot shops, such a wise head my mum has.

thank you all for your responses, I liked the fact that you all are thinking about how to show your love of cyprus.
I just cant help thinking that resposible cypriots who saved for life and their old age are the ones paying the price and not the spendthrifts
