Should Cyprus begin an orderly exit from the Euro in the near future,I think our economy would recover faster if we did.

We are too weak to do such a thing. We need to devolop a stable economy first before we even think of this action.
I think many here see the exit from the euro as a punishment for the EU, but they dont care we are too small to make an impact, a small glitch yes, but nothing major. However, we need to concerntrate on the future for thentime being and assess our situation later.

I did say in the near future and in an orderly way, not as a knee jerk decision

Yes,

Leave the €uro, deflate and let inflation look after our debts...

Otherwise we face stagnation tied to a German economy that we can never imitate (especially now our banking sector has been destroyed)...

No, we don't want to be tied to ANY other economy - that way we can make our own decisions on interest rates, etc. - do what is best for us!

The U.K is in a worse position as regards to debt than Cyprus, the only thing that is stopping the U.K going broke is that they are printing money, which devalues the B.pound

I think it's currently even worse than that. What Cameron wants to do is 'allow' the working mothers to claim back child maintenance (or some kind of childcare amount), which is fine so far. HOWEVER how can they possibly go back to work, when businesses are actually either closing or decreasing staff numbers as they cant afford it due to increase in rates, electricity, and a lot more? (which the government refuse to do anything about).

So they're offering something, which they know people will never be able to claim.

Yes I also believe this , to exit for Euro. Not suprisingly there are many voices now who do not believe not only in Euro but in Europe too. So We have to threaten them with an Exit for Euro. This will have a negative impact on the Eurozone and its image. Other countries may follow and we will see a total collapse like a domino. If one country withraws others will follow and lets see the image of Europe. Its not a suprise that Merkel wants Cyprus to be in Euro ? Why ?
