That was a great decision. I'm asking me if there will be soon a starvation in Cyprus.

I live here, and I am not. For one thing, Cyprus had a policy of self-sufficiency in food prior to EU accession, and is still capable, at a stretch, of producing enough food to meet domestic needs. Cyprus is a major exporter of potatoes, for example.

I hope you have enough cash euros in your wallet. German news says that the supplier are no more delivering food to the cyprus supermarkets because the supermarkets are unable to transfer electronically the money. That means that food prices should dramatically increases.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the shops here are all full of all the normal goods. I went shopping for food today with no problem and paid in euros as usual. (Which German news source was that? Hopefully not Bild zeitung; I would not believe everything you read in that rag.)

"German news says that the supplier are no more delivering food to the Cyprus supermarkets because the supermarkets are unable to transfer electronically the money."

Funny, I have had a quick look at the main German news sources, and can't find that story.

It is true that suppliers are increasingly insisting on cash payment up front, but that is different from saying that there are no deliveries taking place.

Only the two troubled banks have that limit. I can get 700 p/d out of the Co-op.
