Turkey offers 5.8 Billion Euros to buy off the GCs.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

So you don't think paying 50-50 for Cyprus unification is very funny, huh?

Really? What couldn't the TCs do in the north for all these years because of the GCs?

Fly direct in and out of Ercan airport.

Is that all.

So, you think if you had few non-stop flights to the north the place would become an Oasis, do you?

You get all the direct flights from Turkey all the time, so where is the Oasis?

The TCs can still fly from Cyprus non-stop, and many do, so where is the problem? :D

The illegal occupation of Cyprus by Turkey needs to have some repercussions, don't you think?

Complain to Turkey about that one.

Because the "trnc" is an illegal entity created by the occupying force of Turkey in Cyprus and the 1944 Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation does not recognise the north. You went to court over it and the "trnc" lost, remember!

CONVENTION ON INTERNATIONAL CIVIL AVIATION, SIGNED AT CHICAGO, ON 7 DECEMBER 1944 (CHICAGO CONVENTION)

PART I AIR NAVIGATION
CHAPTER I
GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND APPLICATION OF THE CONVENTION
Article 1 Sovereignty
The contracting States recognize that every State has complete and exclusive sovereignty over the airspace above its territory.
Article 2
Territory
For the purposes of this Convention the territory of a State shall be deemed to be the land areas and territorial waters adjacent thereto under the sovereignty, suzerainty, protection or mandate of such State.

Actually, it seems like some things has not changed or will ever change, don't you think?

Karma works both ways, and don't ever forget that.

In fact, with far less GCs going to the north to gamble and have sex from now on, the casinos and the whorehouses will be suffering also.

The RoC was/is in the world news for nearly 2 weeks now and has been shown to the world as a sovereign island as a whole with natural resources to be developed. There was hardly any mention of the "trnc", and as the saying goes, "there's no such thing as bad publicity", which means the RoC will benefit from those free publicity. The whole world knows where Cyprus is now. One can't buy that kind of publicity. You can write off Cyprus all you want, but do so at your own peril, because where as the north will always be under the Turkish control and limited to develop itself as long as the occupation continues, the RoC will and can only go from it's bad situation at present to much better days in the future.

Still, the Turkish Cypriot enclave faces big economic and political problems. It is throttled by a decades-long trade blockade and a huge public sector subsidized by Ankara. the breakaway region is well behind the rest of the island economically.

And although Turkey has tripled overall cash subsidies to Cyprus since 2002 to $600 million a year, Ankara redirected much of that investment to infrastructure, cutting state wages, which has damped spending as prices have risen.

A rise in tourism revenue hasn't flowed to the real economy, some business people say. "Yes, more tourists are coming, but they're only coming to gamble in casinos. The money doesn't go to the economy because they stay in the compound," said Okan Polatkan, manager of a tour operator in Lefkosa. "Without a peace deal, we'll never have real development."

here is another article well worth reading.
So why did saris to to russia to ask for a loan when he could have gone to UK and ask for backdated rent with interest since 1960. Surely that would have raised a fair bit of the money cyprus was asked to raise.

Just do us a favor Lordo... the next time he ventures past the roadblock please keep him there for keeps. He is low maintenance… all he needs is a couple of fresh Turkish boys each week.

But I thought you were gloating on how things were great in the north in comparison to the south at the moment. The truth is, you probably did not read your own article that you posted, or you have read it but did not understand it, otherwise you would not have made comments about "karma" and the "beginning of showing results". It makes you look clueless, Lordo. :D

i cannot be held responsible for what a few cells that you have have began to think. how long have you suffering from this syndrome to add to all your other complexes where an apology is not apology. my word the mess in cyprus is beginning to effect you i am afraid. off to the doctor i think, if you continue in this condition you brain may well explode and that will not be nice to the people around you. you have no right to impose such nastiness on to your so called "friends".
