Turkey offers 5.8 Billion Euros to buy off the GCs.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

the world is a changing.
' Cyprus will pay dearly for its sins. The Mediterranean island has committed many follies over the years — and is still making mistakes.

The Cypriots always seem to overestimate their negotiating position. In recent years, their first big mistake was to reject in 2004 the U.N. plan for uniting their island. That irritated their E.U. partners, put Cyprus in a weak strategic position vis-à-vis Turkey and left a jagged scar across the island. '

It would have been a perfect opportunity for the EU Partners to insist of the RoC accepting the 2004 AP as part of this rescue package if the statement was true, NO?

Maybe they have, how do you know they havent?

I'm sure you would have been the first to tel us all about it if it had.

VP, the ever eternal hopeful for the resurrection of the AP of 2004!

We cannot know what goes on behind the scenes only when the times come to sit around the negotiating table we will be able to tell what changes in the GCs have accepted by their stance, if there is a softer more flexible approach then we can conclude certain deals were struck today as is the case of the Israeli apology, its all about give and take.

Maybe the the collapse of the GC economy will push them towards compromising for a solution but will the TCs look favouably about uniting with such a troublesome mess?

I think you may be right. They probably took out the provisions in the AP where the GCs were going to pay for all the cost for the unification. Looks like it will be a 50-50 cost to the GCs and the TCs now, just like the way you like it, 50-50!

Ohh, and there goes Lordo's dream of 1 Dönüm TC land in the south being equal to 100 Dönüms of GC land in the north.

Its ironic how all these years the Gcs have been pursuing and forcing inhumane embargoes on the TRNC to force the TCs into economic submission that they should suffer this fate of their own making...now Karma is a bitch dont you think?

So you don't think paying 50-50 for Cyprus unification is very funny, huh?

Really? What couldn't the TCs do in the north for all these years because of the GCs?

I think it has the opposite effect. If our house is no longer in order why would we want to further complicate things?

And btw...

Now you know how we feel about you!
