Oh I am so Sorry but I had been lead to believe by some here that anything Greek in Origin had to be perfect....

The word on the Russian in Cyprus Forum is that the EU in General and Cyprus in particular has lost a lot of trust and Laiki and BoC are probably effectively dead as most of the Russians will be pulling as much of their money out as is possible as fast as they can and these banks do not have the cash to pay up, so what they wanted to avoid will happen....

Well just stop passing on any old rubbish you hear.

Foreigners are still better off having the levy in Cyprus (with the share potentials) than receiving poor (zero) interest elsewhere or having the same thing happen in other banks. For example, UK banks hardly pay any interest and charge 40% on any they do, to the wealthy.
