Damned if I know but I am sure one or other of the died in the wool Athenocentrics such as GiG or Kurupetos will have some vague answer, of which one will be myths about security....

...more to the point: what is an Individual, what is a Person.

and if you have a mother, are you the mother? love is not mutually exclusive. you do not love nothing else, because you love something. the Ignorance is to deny a love for the Land, and in that Cypriots have the good fortune of being an island. Cyprus is neither a Greek island, or Turkish island, this is made abundantly clear with every tragic event "Turks" and "Greeks" have demonstrated here. Cypriots exist, and continue their existence even against an Imperialism of language which far bigger Interlocutors exploit toward benefiting their own aims. Cyprus is a State, and in this state an equal to Greece and Turkey, its Citizens are Individuals, in a world that is highly mobile. Nations in this context, seek to sustain themselves as Persons, far away from "home". and in Cyprus, the noble experiment is to define Bicommunal; where, Freedom is Secured United (as Individuals), and where Liberty (as Cypriots) includes for self-representation of Constituencies (as Persons) as well. (a minimum of three governing bodies, anything but two.)

...easy for kurupetos to be "Greek". because there is no Greek Constituency, these expressions only harm the identity of the island as a People Sovereign, for it. instead it is hobbled as a Greek representation of the will of its electors. Cyprus in essence is Stateless, and now split in two, because the debate itself denies all Cypriots a voice in what has been the Proxy War of National interests who see Cyprus as "their" property, its dwellers denied and more like chattel.

...interesting, according to the poll:

only the desire to see one Cyprus in Peace, has more votes than the desire to see only one Cypriot flag, and only one person sees Greece and Turkey as motherlands.

sadly, (imo), one person does not want one Cyprus living in Peace who did not answer any other question, although it says alot about the population that voted where more than 80% voted in favour.

a little more than half see themselves as Cypriots above an ethnic origin.

why would you blame Greece in all this.....first of all even with out laiki giving money to the Greeks, Cyprus would still be in this mess....2nd...with over 10 times of GDP in Cyprus' banks....The banks gave freely to everyone in Cyprus because they could...the economy of Cyprus is too small to absorb loans like they were giving out...The Russians and their billions would have stayed...the problem would be worse in 3 years.....

I find the question of Cyprus fascinating personally speaking I love Cyprus and I want the people of Cyprus to live in peace, without fear, but at the same time I recognize there are many divisions in Cyprus in terms of philosophy, and the identity of Cyprus people this is why I think its a good thing to have this poll, so that people can have a free vote on their personal belief and mindset.

...Cyprus is a reflexion of Europe, and/or Turkey. Rights for Persons can be defined if as Individuals they choose to. a Cypriot way when found will offer a template others will emulate (we hope because it serves a greater good in terms of defining the words State and Nation), dude or dudette because i know so little about you, I_Love_Cyprus, focus on the issue, not just the issue of "Greeks" and "Turks", if you are as you say, a Citizen of the World; i do not forget your aim in making a film. indeed, here is a poll of those who choose to be vociferous, no different to the facts of life in many countries, 20% extremist either way and the silent majority.
