Hon. Jim Karygiannis P.C., M.P.

Dear Friend

Cyprus Cultural Destruction

For over two years now we have been working with you on an epetition which we have transmitted a strong message to the head of UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova.

The pillage, destruction and desecration of Cyprus religious and cultural heritage in the occupied part of Cyprus has been brought about by the continuing Turkish occupation of more than a third of the island's territory, and has led to incalculable loss. The desecration and destruction of religious and historical sites began as soon as Turkish troops set foot in the northern part of Cyprus, since the invasion on July 20th, 1974, and continues until today.

Unfortunately, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has to date, been unsuccessful in protecting the cultural heritage of Cyprus.

You have signed the petition Now we ask that you encourage friends, relatives, neighbors, everyone that you know and on your email list to visit the following website and send a personal message to UNESCO and sign the petition asking for their intervention.

Thank in you advance for your assistance and cooperation

Regards,
