No... that was just one of the early signs of Greece going the wrong way. Why is it humor to say something offensive about other people who have done nothing bad to you?

It seems like it is a plan of the government to more easily create social unrests in the future

It was rather a while ago but it made me realise Greeks were no different to Cypriots (a little crude) and especially no different to the over-familiarity exhibited in rib-pulling in my own family.

The particular comment was in the manner of "make more room for the big lady". Then there was some clever play on words. Appearing concerned but without excusing the reason why. It goes back to Aristophanes.

It's nice when people are not afraid to speak.

Did they all start singing "Taram Taram Taram espase to Tram, Mbenei mia xontrh "

Also, were you the woman of large size?

No, I'm the type who receives no comments when I am at my worst, or receive nice comments when looking normal. Most times (in Cyprus at least) we get to hear all the anti-German jokes because they assume my husband and I are both "Γερμανοί".

Anyway, it's still usual to hear young lads shout "Fresh Meat" to each other (an in-joke in Polis) and laugh when a load of new British tourists go by.

There are many "racist" inclined comments being thrown around when people feel comfortable they are with their own kind. It's a commonality most cultures have. A few have become mentally sick though, probably through thought repression.

The racist thug is Alexandros Plomaritis, 44, a deputy candidate in Greece's parliamentary elections last summer. GD claimed they didn't know they were being filmed but judging from the quality of the fiming I doubt it.

what did the fat lady say back to them, how did she react? did she start crying and go to the back of the bus hiding? or did she put them all in their place with a comment or gesture?
