rw i never said it was a bad idea. please read my post again. i am saying without peace in cyprus terkey will veto it and she has the right to do so.
but at another level lets go back in history. hat is the cyprus problem all about. was it not the case that usa wanted cyprus in nato and makarios was getting close to ussr. was that not the reason why the coup took place. to splt the country up into two. one under greece and one under terkey both in nato. so if you like the idea of the perpetrator of the worst crimes in cyprus be rewarded like they did with the resources go ahead and reward them.
in reality if there is peace tcs will not accept the complete removal the guranties so nato will be the next best thing for them but it is still wrong which ever way you look at it.
as to the gcs being against turkish guarantee, of course they are. if it was not for them in 74 there would not be one tc left.
