Well shouldn’t you find out more before saying that we are worse? Corruption is all over the world and I hate every bit of it. What makes you think that by unifying the Island things will not get worse. If Greeks are conning Greeks and Turks are conning Turks and the politicians are the worst of the bunch, what do you think will happen when they are at each other’s throats? I can’t see them going out behind the government buildings and sorting it out.
As for jumping into the sea, I hope you are a very strong swimmer.

If we unite the island ,my hope is that EU standards and laws will apply in the TRNC as well,so most of those illegal and immoral acts will disappear.
And perhaps we can all start acting like Cypriots for once,and leave our ethnic origins in history books where they belong.Turkey for Turks ,Greece for Greeks,Cyprus for Cypriots.What do you think?

My dreams and my hopes entirely, BUT. I genuinely do not believe it will happen. To many racists on both sides. If you think that my opinion does not matter and only you are right then you tell me what the colour of milk is and I will believe YOU!

All colours are equally beautiful,but white imperialists and racist have made us believe that white is supreme.Ultra nationalist have convinced us that Turks are superior to Greeks or Greeks are superior to Turks.

In fact, in my experience,people on both sides who believe in cyprus,who stand for a united Cyprus,who want to be Cypriots first,are people who know their history and are proud of their origin, much more than the nationalists.Their knowledge and pride is a more refined one.Yes i am proud to be of greek ethnick backround as i am sure you are proud of your turkish ethnic backround.But we are also wise and open minded enough to acknowledge our mistakes.Like a child who has grown and has become mature enough to see through the faults of his parents.He wants his independence because he knows that holding on to his mother,s skirt will never allow him to achieve his full potential as an independent individual.It does not mean he does not love his parents.Quite the contrary....

I too feel that only those who love their country or their ethnic origins with a passion will criticise their country's or ethnicity's faults as they see them.Our ethnicity is an accident of nature or biology or intelligent design or whatever you believe.But we can choose to which nation we belong.If you feel you belong to the Turkish nation,go and live in Turkey.If you feel you belong to the Greek nation,go and live in Greece. If you want to live in Cyprus,you can't have it both ways.You must become a Cypriot.What is so difficult to understand about this?

Too much pride is not a good thing. Why should we proud of something that we don't choose or work for but we gain by birth. Are you also proud of the color of your hair and the shape of your nose. Our ethnic background is who we are. I will protect my identity and protect my existence but I don't think my ethnic background is more superior than anyone elses.
