New presidential parade

Postby Ukgreek » Sun Feb 24, 2013 10:36 pm

I am watching the new presidents parade and speech right now but I don't understand why I can only see three Cyprus flags waving around but at least one hundred Greece flags waving around. The last time I checked Cyprus was an independent not a Greek island.

I think Piratis explained it good here cyprus39980-10.html#p746277
The vast majority of Cypriots are Greek and the only reason that Cyprus is not part of the Greek state like Crete, Rhodes and most other Greek islands is that the British and the Turks didn't respect the will of the Cypriot people and they forced their own terms instead. This should be made perfectly clear to any foreigner who might assume that the independence of Cyprus was a result of the free will of Cypriots and then get confused when he sees all the Greek flags.
