Well that's lucky for you because the Euro is the safest currency!

- As for "news for homesick Cypriots" - you sick money-interested opportunists fail to realise Cypriost are only ultimately interested in ONE piece of news:

"Turkish Troops and Settlers Withdrawn from Cyprus!"

there will be few who should disagree with that sentiment (I indeed support and applaud it - along with an end to the SBA) however
(1) I was involved in a discussion last week between my Cypriot boss and another Englishman where my boss thought that the realistic prospect for recovering the north was increasingly remote -
(2) for something like 14% of the working population and their dependents who have no jobs and many other others on low paid jobs I would think the thing most immediately on their mind is where is the next meal coming from.-

Oh so you want it more than Cypriots! Arrogance abounds.

You're interpreting things from your colonialist perspective again. Just because some tell you they believe it is "remote" ( a relative term btw) it doesn't mean that is not what they want more than anything. You see, when Turkey leaves and the refugees get their homes back and perhaps we can spend less on defence than there will be MORE money for Cypriots anyway!

Besides, I've told you before stud; GCs do not confide in Brits in the way that you thnk. So stop thinking what they tell you are their "true" feelings(at best, it's equivocal) and start believing they tell you what you want to hear so that you can leave them alone!

Can you prove with statistics and sources that the entirety of the GC population is reluctant to confide their greatest desires to British nationals living in Cyprus?

Why don't you go and live in a GC village and find out first hand. Why don't you talk to your old relatives who grew up with this ingrained in them! Oh I know, why not!

Good for you. But why butt-in with your own extreme version of what I was suggesting to stud? Perhaps it touched a nerve that I was letting him into that little GC 'secret'. My husband is a Scot and I know how the conversations go when it's just GCs in company or mixed. Politeness abounds.

Don't you confide your political views to your husband? Hasn't he ever tried tzatziki with his black pudding?
