The dream of enosis is still alive and kicking. It is some of those that are in power that want it and, though it pains me to say it, some of the ordinary peoples too. I have visited so many sites pretending to be about Cyprus and all we get, as TCs is maybe a little mention if at all. These are the things that make my blood boil. I want a balanced report. Every English person I speak to in my job thinks there are only Greeks on the island and it makes my blood boil. I have been going into two houses every working day for the past thirty years and it’s the same story, it makes my blood boil. I will not allow Turkey or Greece to wipe me as a Turkish Cypriot out of history, either of the past or the future. I don’t know what sort of a nationalist that makes me but what ever it is then so be it.

I have to start off by apologising to you all for not making my self clear. I have nothing against any of your GC friends or indeed any one that does not wish me harm. My best friends at school were 2 GCs and an Armenian from Istanbul and then there was me a TC. Our greater circle of friends was more GCs and a TC, an African, Jamaican, a few English, a Turk from Turkey and a Pakistani. We also had a racist half German/English who absolutely hated blacks and religion. He is know a born again Christian who is married to an African woman and, a complete loony. The Turk from Turkey is living with a Greek woman twice his age and has found Jesus and hard drugs in equal quantities. The TC and one of the well-off GCs are both dead from drug overdoses. The rest of us never ever did hard drugs.

The reason I am telling you all this is so that you realise that I have had friends from most parts of the world. My one GC friend, who I still see, has fought by my side and still will. He and others like him are not who I am talking about. It is the Matsakis of this world that worry me. It is the parents of one of my GC friends that never spoke to me and hated the TCs, and that was before 1974. It is the people that choose to give medals to EOKA terrorist. It is the people that play politics with our lives. It is the criminals that are backing some of these politicians. It is the people that refuse to go forward from today and except the changes that have happened because of previous mistakes and are willing to uproot thousands of people. Uproot them and move them on, in a similar fashion to the death marches of old. It is the military that bosses people about because it can and allows a corrupt government to make money through gambling, and many more.

What do you say to people that say stupid things like Turks are really Gypsies and people like Alexios that go off and talk in Greek so you cannot understand and people like Raffaella who is an in your face racist……….You say……….UP YOURS.

Birkibrisli mentioned running a marathon one step at a time. The last marathon that was run in England, several people died. The reason was; they did not prepare properly. I bet they are not sitting on a cloud saying “well, at least we tried”!!!!!!!

Zan..Nicko who is a very nice fellow...just likes to throw a word every now and then just to create a stir..I replied to him that he knows That T/Cs are not Gypsies and then went on to say a cypriot proverb that cannot really be translated but roughly it means just that..That he likes to say a word to see the reaction..
Before you rush to judge people i advise you to have a look as to what i have been saying in the forum throughout..especially i recommend you to read my story on the hunter and the bear under the ..the man who stamped on his friend,s shadow//topic..
as for Rafaella, she a girl..please show a bit more understanding..after all she should be in the kitchen instaed of writing here..))

From the first day you entered the forum you started attacking by calling me racist, from the first day!
What can someone say for this kind of attidute and behavior? If your traumas are deep and you see enemies and ghosts everywhere, I'm not to blame. Look for another scapegoat.
Turn the coin and see the other side of it as well....and better light a candle than curse the darkness.

i dont know about the english , but the germans usually ask me if i come from the greek or the turkish part. an american that i met thought the island was in polynisia

If foreigners don't know there are TCs in Cyprus,perhaps it is our fault for not representing our side properly.Perhaps it was our fault that we walked out of the RoC in 1963,and started plotting the partition of our country.Yes,I know about the EOKA and ENOSIS and the fear that gribbed the TC community in 1963,and I am not trying to say we walked out for no reason,but consider for one second that we walked out for the wrong reasons or for reasons not good enough.We could have dealt with things differently perhaps.And think about why we never asked to be given our rights under the 1960 constitution,not once in 42 years!!!
Even when we were really doing it tough between 1963-74.
The reason why the world thinks Cyprus is all Greek is partly because there has been a GC government representing the whole of Cyprus for all this time.And we sat back and let it happen,we can't really blame anybody else.
And if you really don't want Turkey and Greece to wipe you out of history,you better think about finding a solution which will unify our country and return some of the political power to us.Because if things go on the way they are,TCs will be wiped off the map within 25 years.You will have the RoC in the South,and the TRNC made up entirely of the settlers and their decendents.You will die in England and I will die in Australia,wondering what if we could have found a way of trusting each other,and forging a unique Cypriot nation.

I hope your cousin is raped, your uncle missing, and your fortune gone in the hands, and by the hands, of an invading army! Then you will truly understand the meaning of the phrase "my blood is boiling".

You and I would get on much better if you didn’t keep quoting things you have obviously read on Greek propaganda leaflets. The TCs did not walk out of the government and start to plot.

I think you forget what came first. EOKA my friend EOKA. How can you achieve enosis if you have a TC involvement? The TC government was manipulated and forced out. I think if you care to read a balanced report you might find that a couple of bombs were involved. Or did you just want the TCs to agree to enosis and pack up and leave. Sure they made mistakes, in that they did not shout loud enough to let the world know what was happening.

Please read these carefully and then respond. Please pay particular attention to the order of events
