How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Oh yes, words of a "wise man" who believes in what he says.

Well "dayi" ("thug" in english!) I just hope that I am not wrong. Otherwise I am afraid both communities future in this country is not going to be very promising at all!

Kifeas,

Excuse me, "dayi" is a "thug" in English? Where ever did you learn English or Turkish? Do you know what a "thug" is at all?

FYI, "Dayi" is Turkish and it means "Uncle" in English. I am very curious to know how you managed to turn "Uncle" into a "thug".

Well, let me put it this way, if what you said was right then why isn't Cyprus "unified" yet?

On what do you enforce your comment that the majority of the TCs do not share zan's ideas?

How many TC's post in this forum and how many of them agree with "unifications", is it the majority or the minority?

Well, I am sorry if I mistook it for "thug" while you actually meant it to be "uncle!"

It means a "thug" as well, as it also means "uncle!"

results for "dayi"
1. A swagger
2. ID friend at court

So Kifeas, knowing all this and more importantly you having TC "friends" and are for unification you still chose to translate "Dayi" as a "thug" in your reply instead of "Uncle". Simple question, why?

BTW, why didn't you answer my other questions?

My "friend!" I chose this translation, simply because that's also how I perceived you to have come across in the forum. Namely like a Dayi! We also use this word in Greek. We say that someone behaves like a "dais" or a "kapatais," etc.

As for your other question(s,) I am not sure what you were actually asking, it was too abstract and purely sarcastic, and that is why I skipped it! You even continue to be sarcastic in your last post above by placing the word TC friends in inverted commas and yet you complain that I translated your name in the way I did. If you can put your question in a more specific and concise way, then I might be able to answer it!

I think he is unhappy about your avatar. He doesn't like TCs with such avatars, or who are openly propartitionist.
You never explained why you chose it by the way, why did you chose it? ;-)

Well my first choice was the Jamaican one but source had that already and to make matters worse he used my reasons too. :x

My second choice would have obviously been the TRNC flag but that was not available for obvious reasons again.

The avatar I finally chose was because I liked it very much from an artistic point, in that the central figure (the flag) is in the centre. The eye represents the eye of a person looking at a flag that is reflecting about a central axis, the flag that is beautifully framed by the eye. :? Besides all that I thought it would piss off source. I wonder if he realises that the eye is that of Attaturk. :x :x

Hey zan, I can understand you. It is bad that there is no Turkish Cypriot flag. Try to contact the Admin and tell him you want to use the TRNC flag as your avatar.
