Their is nothing to explain Zan. We already understood very well. You are one of those TCs that fly the Turkish flags, claim 100s of years of history in Cyprus, and at the same time pretend to be the virgin Mary that has nothing to do with the centuries of oppression by the Ottomans and the Turkish criminal invasion and occupation.

The only thing that is criminal is your complete lack of real knowledge. I think he just got mixed up and thought that it was indeed the Greek flag. Lack of knowledge is a bad thing.

The reason why I picked the Jamaican flag is because they have a very similar history to Greek Cypriots..and I have many Jamaican friends.

Like GC they also spent hundreds of years under opression of various rulers.

Like GC they also tried to fight off the British to gain freedom.

Like GC they also had to aspire to a form of nationalism when under opression, in order to be strong as a people and fight for there freedom.

This resulted in a movement of recognising their African roots...much like the Greek Cypriots recognising their Greek roots.

The typical 'father figure' of most Jamaicans or black people in the diaspora was Marcus Mosiah Garvey, who was the one who told black people to look to their African roots in order to be strong and strive for freedom. He is also a kind of prophet in the Rastafarian religion and was the one who set up the Orthodox Church in Jamaica...the same form of Christianity we Greek Cypriots practise. Did you also know that Bob Marley was born an Orthodox Christian and and reverted back to Orthodoxy just before his death.

This is why I have the Jamaican flag.

That or source like smoke a spleef every now and then while listening to Bob Marley. But then the question remains of why he isn't a bit more laid back?

My roommate used to be jamaican, I found it so hard to understand his jamaican accent sometimes. They speak really funny, but he was a bright guy. It's sad that there is so much violance in his country now, with all those kidnappings, etc...s

And come on Jamaicans have nothing to do with Greek cypriots. The histories are so completely different. They are basically settlers from africa that were enslaved. the greeks are the indigenous people in Cyprus and were never enslaved.

(Of course you are going to say the turks enslaved us for 500 years blah blah... but if you think about it slaves do not really own property, and your ancestors and the church owned property under the turkish yoke)

Can I tell a Churchill joke to lighten up things again?

At a dinner party,a young and stunningly beautiful woman goes up to Churchill and proposes marriage."Just think," she says,"with my looks and your brains, our children would be brilliant." There is a pause while Churchill ponder the proposition."What are you thinking?" asks the young woman. "What if they get my looks and your brains???" Churchill answers. :D

the 'speaking funny' is called patois.

How are the histories completely different? We had the same rulers we were trying to break free from. Those rulers proceeded even worse rulers...which in Jamaica's case was the Spanish and in our case was the Turks. We both had to look toward our 'motherland' that we were in similar aspects we were being forced away from, in order to become strong as one and claim freedom.

Besides, Africans did not settle on Jamaica...they were kidnapped and brought there...in any case, we were both opressed for hundreds of years....its just that a Turkish nationalist like you, who plays the innocent virgin mary role, likes the world to think that what we are saying AND what the Armenians are saying AND what the Kurds are saying AND what the Assyrians are saying about Turkish OPPRESSION is a lie.

Did you know that the ideological home of Rastafarianism is Ethiopia...and that religion also has a strong bond with Orthodoxy, which was brought to Ethiopia by Greeks. I myself have Ethiopian god-brothers.
